LOCAL RESIDENTS RECEIVES TRIPLE STAR AWARDS!
Arnold Lions Club welcomed Lion Pat Casey-Gillum, District 4-A1 Governor, at their October 1st club meeting. Gillum presented two Arnold Lion members the “Triple Star Award” for outstanding service to the community, and also inducted a new member, Dennis Duggins to the Arnold Lions Club. ....
The award was given to Lion Larry Larson who tirelessly works behind the scenes to help make our club so successful. He has been our Treasurer, Secretary, participates in our projects and fundraisers. He does our taxes and even finds time to donate his expertise completing tax returns for seniors in need. There are many Arnold Lions deserving of recognition, however all would agree there is none more deserving than Larry.
Lion Don Fry also received the award. He is our ranking member, having joined the Arnold Lions back when it was a breakfast club in 1983. Our foremost ambassador, he has sponsored 12 new members in his 25-year tenure. Three of those new Lions went on to become our President and others received Lion of the Year or Melvin Jones awards. Don has demonstrated his commitment in so many ways, and for so many years that he was an obvious choice as a recipient of the Triple Star Award.
“Our club is very proud of Larry and Don and all that they have done to help others,” said Lion Mike Heffernan, president of the Arnold Lions Club. “We look forward to continuing to serve side-by-side with these dedicated and driven Lions.”
