2008 Fall Quilt Show in Valley Springs This Weekend October 4th~5th
Valley Springs, CA....The opening ceremonies honoring wounded warriors with American Legion Post 102 Color Guard and members of the Calaveras High School Band, will start at 9:45 am on Saturday, October 4th. Enjoy vendor booths, raffle baskets and even enter for a chance to win a sewing machine! The featured quilt artist is Didi McElroy. Quilt appraiser, Becky Rogers, will be available for appraisals. This is wounded warrior in Palo Alto, CA. He is with his mom and Gene Silva. Gene has pieced over 30 tops for the wounded in her name.
Gail Belmont, the Northern California coordinator for Quilts of Valor, will be doing a Ceremony and presenting three wounded warriors with Quilts of Valor at the Quilt Show at 9:45am. "We will be having some of the Calaveras band play the National Anthem, and a blessing of the quilts. I'm a veteran myself played taps for those killed in vie nam. Our group of quilters have done over 200 and I've quilted over 275 all in Calaveras county."
