The Fair Refocuses On Community ~By John Hamilton

Frogtown, CA...The Fair Board as expected made some adjustments to the plans for the 2009 Calaveras County Fair and Frog Jumping Jubilee. The board and management have received quite a bit of feedback and suggestions from the community meeting last month on what changes the community would like to see. The main and most visible changes for attendees will be a renewed focus on the arena events with Jr. Bull Riding being added. The Rodeo, Horse Events and more will be showcased. The Fair Board Hard at Work Polishing Plans for Next Year

The Calaveras County Fair and Frog Jump Jubilee has always been the community and animal programs. This side of the fair has always been wildly successful by any yardstick you could find to measure it.

With the renewed focus on arena events the hope is to build on that. There will also be a myriad of small changes. Some of which include moving the Art Displays closer the the main section of the fair. Small increases and tweaks to ticket prices and more.

So if you are willing to forgo the chance of future offspring for a chance at that blue ribbon...

The biggest opportunities the fair has for increased revenue will be discussed at an additional community meeting next month on how to build as Board President Steven Kautz put it "The other 361 days of the year". What events and programs could be added to increase utilization of the facility during the rest of the year.

The Fair and Frog Jump will always only be a 4-5 day event. The Board is welcoming feedback on how best to fill the yearly schedule. We will add the Next Community Meeting to our calendar as soon as we know additional details.
