Inmate Escape From the Calaveras County Jail

San Andreas, CA...On February 2, 2023, at about 6:38 PM, an Inmate Worker, Larry Albert McDonald Jr, 41 years of age San Andreas, was performing supervised duties associated with his assignment as an inmate worker. Suspect McDonald was taking the trash out with another inmate while supervised by jail staff when he sprinted towards the back fence.

Once at the fence, he climbed over the razor wire and fled into the field. The jail was immediately locked down while Calaveras County Correctional Officers, Calaveras County Patrol Deputies, Calaveras County Canine, Angels Camp Police Canine, California Highway Patrol Officers and Stanislaus County helicopter began checking the area.
At this time, deputies are contacting all known associates and previous locations frequented by the suspect. Anyone caught aiding and abetting his escape or concealing his location may be charged with accessory to escape.

Suspect McDonald was in custody for 21310 PC possession of a dangerous weapon dagger (felony), 166 (A)(4) PC disobey court order (misdemeanor) and 11364 H&S possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor).

He is described as 5-10, 160lbs, with brown hair, hazel eyes, and a tattoo on his neck. He was last reported wearing a blue top, blue pants, and black shoes. The attached picture is his most recent booking photo however, he is recently clean-shaven.

Please call 911 if you see Suspect McDonald or if you learn his location.

Based on looks, half the county belongs in jail, but that's not how it works.
Larry's biggest fault is stupidity, yet another flaw that would put half the county in the slammer.
Hopefully Larry has some serious violent convictions to merit his current residence in jail because a couple misdemeanors and a dagger, which we all have in our kitchens, hardly seem cause to hold him in jail let alone call out all county, city, state law enforcement to capture him. And a helicopter from Stanislaus? Seriously?

The only trouble is, my "daggers" stay in my kitchen.
