Should Murphys be a Neon Free Zone? The BOS Will Decide at Tuesday's Meeting

San Andreas, CA....The BOS meet tomorrow, September 2nd for their regular weekly meeting. An Addendum has been added to the meeting. Since the Planning Commission's approval of Murphys Hotel neon sign was appealed, the Board will now weigh on the matter. To be decided is the fate of the proposed neon sign for Murphys Hotel, but the larger question is...should Murphys be a neon-free town and would the approval of one albeit attractive neon sign, be precedent setting of approval for neons sprouting up all over Murphys. Some of the other agenda items being discussed will be a Resolution Item to acknowledge September 2008 as Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in Calaveras County; A Minute authorizing Board Chair to sign a letter of support for a ecosystems services market to support the economy; Resolution Item authorizing additions, deletions and changes to County Fees, effective October 1st, 2008; Fairway Village Subdivision road improvements will be discussed; Big Trees Estates Subdivision final map will also be discussed; At 10:30am, there will be a Study Session regarding Parks and Recreation Commission, Proposition 40 per capita grant projects. Full agenda enclosed for your viewing pleasure.
