the mothballed project "Gallery At Greenhorn" formerly "Classics On The Ridge" was back before the council. Several members of the council have been unhappy with developer for the visual conditions of the project. Some of the areas of concern have been Fencing, Erosion Control, Potential Safety Hazards with access gates being left open...Etc.
The outcome of this meeting was to postpone voting on granting the developer an extension on the project until the second meeting in October. Councilman Seaton brought this plan forward to give the developer time to make a few visual improvements that are needed. The Council offered the developer this as a carrot with the reward of granting an extension in October if they perform in the interim
The other reoccurring theme at the meetings recently is the problem of access to the commercial properties near the intersections of Hwys 49 & 4 Intersections. Of particular concern is the large multi-acre parcels
that have been blocked by fences and isolated. Mr. Wilmshurst's parcel where he had hoped to build a new Car Dealership to the right and behind the old Blondies Location. Caltrans has erected a fence along Hwy 49 that now completely blocks access to this parcel.
The Council voted craft a letter to Caltrans Director Will Kempton regarding access to properties along State Highways. The Council as a body is concerned about the actions of Caltrans so-far in this regard.
