Crews Working Yosemite Lightning Caused Fires
Yosemite, CA...An update on recent fire activity in Yosemite is below. The Red Fire is currently 50 acres and burning at the 7,800ft elevation. The Rogers Fire is 5 acres and is burning at 8,100 ft elevation.
RED FIRE
Location: between Red Creek and Illilouette Creek
Elevation: 7,800
Discover Date: August 4, 2022
Size: 50 acres
Cause: Lightning
Fire history: burning in the 2001 Hoover fire footprint
Yosemite fire crews are on scene. No current trail closures.
RODGERS FIRE
Location: northwest of Rodgers Canyon and southwest of Pleasant Valley
Elevation: 8,100
Discover Date: August 8, 2022
Size: 5 acres
Cause: Lightning
Yosemite fire crews are on scene. No current trail closures.

If any of the above idiots have ever been in the areas described, they would know fires there are easily contained when properly watched over. Lots of granite, which in case you don't know, doesn't burn. Just stay in the campground fool, don't try to go to the backcountry, you wouldn't stand a chance.

Agreed. Same people that need a generator because they can’t step away from their phone for a few hours to enjoy fresh air, exercise and Mother Nature.

They need to get these OUT! Next thing there will be a wind and it will spread like the Tamarack Fire near Markleeville and the Caldor Fie that nearly wiped out South Lake Tahoe! Get them OUT!
