OMG, those going into mokelumne hill in either direction can’t even stop at a stop sign for hiway 49! How the hell are they going to figure out a roundabout??? This is death trap from all four directions. Good luck and be safe.

Roundabouts actually work in small and large intersections with both private and very large commercial vehicles. It's the unsmart drivers that cause worry.

You have numerous log trucks going through this intersection, why wouldn’t a light be sufficient, instead of jacking a diesel truck, loaded with logs trying to start and go, use your heads, Cal-trans, this shouldn’t even be part of the solution! By the way, how many accidents have happened at this intersection since it was turned into a four way stop? NONE! Libtards are obsessed with roundabouts, just like they are obsessed with killing babies!

You're obsessed with being an idiot...you're an obvious inbred. WTF folks couldn't deal with the 2 way stop it used to be is beyond me. Inbreds and libs all need to take driving lessons. That intersection is low volume and certainly doesn't warrant a signal. The roundabout might cost some $, but unskilled and inattentive drivers screw up stop signs all the time, so the roundabout is more efficient.

Watching this illustrates the absolute ineptness and imbecility of government.

They will take away your rights and ruin your life in the name of "safety" which on the surface is good but remember only they decide what is "safety"

Roundabouts work quite well in other areas of the country, including slowing down fast-moving, large trucks. Only in that end of Calaveras County would you have people saying "they're taking our rights" in the name of public safety. There's a reason your businesses are leaving and no one is investing in properties now for sale.

A roundabout is a freeway compared to some of the mountain roads and curves logging trucks regularly travel.

This one will destroy the shopping center with the grocery store, restaurant, etc. The cost for this "improvement" far outweigh and perceived "benefit"

Here is Kautz, fing the locals for the out of towners! This is one Conservative that is Conservative only in one way and it is for he and his family to dominate a once. Peaceful, place to live! What will he find next to destroy in the community? Your housing tract looks and is a Manteca based s hole!

4, 4X4s with metal stop signs makes the most sense! Why the push for a big change? Cal-Trans loves to come to the foothills and try to blow some unneeded project through! Look what we got for $3 million dollars. We wanted a light at Penn. Gulch and hiway 4, but got a suicide lane that hasn’t improved that bottleneck one bit! Those Cal-Trans surveyors spent years here, and this is what they came up with?

CalTrans surveyors milked the Moke Hill project fo sho'. They whipped that tub of gravy for all they could. 8-9 surveyors, 8-9 trucks. Untold number of man hours dedicated to a job that should have taken at a max, half as long as it did from a survey standpoint. If it was private business, and they took that long, they would have been sent packing for sticking it to the customer. Cal Trans? Just waiting for the next gravy boat to come along. fuk CalTrans and all their gravy training workers. Stealing from you and me is what they are doing.
