The Ceder Center in Arnold is Gearing Up for the 3rd Annual MotherLode Arts and Wine Festival!....With Last Year's Video Enclosed!

Arnold, CA....The 3rd Annual Motherlode Arts and Wine Festival is coming up on August 16th benefitting the Calaveras Humane Society. Since its inception this community event continues to grow in size and stature by attracting more people concerned about the homeless dogs and cats of Calaveras County.....

Last Year's Annual Event!

Spearheading this annual event is Tallahan’s Café (http://www.tallahans.com). “By leveraging off the community work done by Drew Morris and the Cedar Center Merchants Association (http://www.cedarcenter.net/eventmusic.html) with the Music in the Park Summer Series, we have been able to use the park for the betterment of the community” Karen Smith of Tallahan’s said. “This is a great event and we are very happy to have Calaveras Humane Society (CHS) (http://www.calaverashumane.org) as the beneficiary.”

The proceeds are used by the Calaveras Humane Society to save the lives of dogs and cats by funding their spay and neuter program and by supporting the CHS volunteers who foster the pets while they wait for adoption. CHS will have animals available for adoption at the event.

This dynamic festival includes local wineries and artists from Calaveras and Amador Counties. The featured wineries include:
Bodega del Sur (http://www.bodegadelsur.com);
Broll Mountain Vineyards (http://www.brollmountainvineyards.com); Chatom Vineyards (http://www.chatomvineyards.com);
Irish Vineyards (http://www.irishvineyard.com);
Ironstone (http://www.ironstonevineyards.com);
Twisted Oak (http://www.twistedoak.com/twisted/index.jsp);
Indian Rock Vineyards (http://www.indianrockvineyards.com) and Frog’s Tooth Winery (http://www.frogstooth.com/).

Some of the local artists featured include:
Dave Hargus http://www.calaverasimages.com is a local photographer located in Arnold. His specialties are people, cabins, buildings, pets and landscape photography. His Arnold photographic series captures moments of Arnold beauty.
Marilyn Richards is a local artist working in acrylics and studying with Gereon Rios. Marilyn is active in the Golden Palette Art Association and the Arts of Bear Valley. You can view her work in galleries and restaurants located throughout Calaveras County.
Janice Carpenter specializes in glass painting and will be giving a live demonstration at the fair. Jan’s work is also visible throughout the county.
Pamela Quyle of Quyle Kilns http://quylekilns.com is another featured local artist. Many things inspire her and she works with pottery and in glass designs.

In addition to the wine and art there will be a host of fun and talented musicians including: Kim Manuel & Friends, Pretty Mama & The Not So Hots and The Elvis Tribute Band.

Wine tasting from 12-5
Music from 2-8
Vendors from 11-5

Admission to the event is FREE. Wine tasting tickets are $15 and includes a commemorative glass!

We were using a new camera on last year's coverage.... the sound turned out overmodulated. We are much more technical this year:)
