Citation Issued for Algerine Fire. One Lawn Tractor Suffered Heat Exposure
Jamestown, CA...On Monday, May 22,2022 near 11000 Algerine Rd Jamestown (Tuolumne County.) Air and ground forces from CAL FIRE Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit, Tuolumne County Fire Department and Sonora Fire Department aggressively attacked the fire keeping it to under 2 acres, stopping it just feet away from the RVs. The investigation led to a citation being issued to the responsible individual.
As a reminder, clearing vegetation around your property and creating defensible space is a critical component to your wildfire preparedness plan. However, using the correct tool at the correct time is critical to doing the right thing the right way! Mowers are designed for green lawns and not dry native weeds and grasses.

Hot and dry, windy and metal blades. No amount of public information and education will help some.
