Amador COVID-19 News

Amador County, CA... This Friday, May 20, 2022, the COVID-19 vaccine clinic will be held during the health fair at First 5 Amador, located at 975 Broadway in Jackson, from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Next week, The Health and Services Building (HHS) COVID-19 vaccine clinics will resume as scheduled on Tuesday mornings from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM and Friday afternoons from 1 PM to 4 PM. To book a COVID-19 vaccine clinic appointment visit the myturn.ca.gov website. Walk-ins for vaccination must arrive 30 minutes before each clinic ends. Appointments may be scheduled for homebound individuals by calling Amador Public Health at (209) 223-6407. Retail pharmacy COVID-19 vaccination availability may be checked at vaccines.gov.



OptumServe test sites have now converted to include the “Test-to-Treat” format where individuals may get tested, assessed by a medical provider, and (if appropriate) prescribed antiviral pills for treatment. Persons should bring a list of all medications and supplements for assessment by the medical provider. The Health and Human Services Building (HHS) test site operates on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 7 AM to 3 PM. Register for this no-cost testing at the lhi.care website or by calling 1 -888-634-1123. OptumServe may accommodate walk-ins on a limited basis. An At Home Testing fact sheet is available, and additional COVID-19 testing options within Amador and the surrounding areas are listed on the Amador County Testing Sites website. Every household may request two more sets of 4 free at-home COVID-19 tests per address by mail, visit: www.covidtests.gov/ or call 1-800-232-0233. Those who test positive that are at elevated risk for severe illness should promptly seek medical advice to see if they qualify for outpatient prescription treatment. Current COVID-19 data and trends may be found on the Amador COVID-19 website.
