Join the Firefighters from the Angels Camp Fire Department for the 46th Annual Fireman's FunDay ~By Hanna Alldrin
Angels Camp, CA....Join the Firefighters from the Angels Camp Fire Department for the 46th Annual Fireman's FunDay on August 23rd. Fireman's FunDay is an annual benefit for the Angels Camp Fire Department. In 1961, the firemen from the Angels Camp Volunteer Fire Department would host an annual control burn and then after they were all done they would allow all the children to take a ride on the back of the fire engine.......
A bunch of county youngsters get a preview of the traditional ride on the 1963 GMC fire engine for Firemen's FunDay. The funtruck engine was dedicated to Howard Stone, who was the annual funtruck driver for firemen's funday. In 1962 the first ever Fireman's FunDay was held in the Utica Park in Angels Camp. Thousands of people from our area flocked to the park and took a ride on a "REAL FIRE ENGINE." Many of the traditions celebrated at the first annual FunDay are still celebrated today. Traditions include: Bingo, Dinner, and fire truck rides.
The annual Fireman's FunDay is held on the fourth Saturday in August every year. This years celebration will be on August 23rd. Activities will include: Dinner, Frog Jump, Bounce Houses, Game Booths, Bingo, Live Music, and the famous Fire Truck Rides. Hanna Alldrin with Alldrin Photography will also be offering family fire engine photographs.
You may purchase your dinner tickets in advance at the Fire House, Middleton's, and Angels Food Market. Pre-Sale dinners will be $12 for Adults and $6 for children. At Fireman's FunDay dinner for adults will be $15 and children will be $7.
"For the past two years Fireman's FunDay has been a community event, and we encourage all to come and support our local fire department," shared Liz Brown. We hope you see you all there.
