Amador County Loses Two More to Covid This Week

Amador County, CA...The current surge of COVID-19 continues to significantly impact residents of our community as reflected by 350 active cases. Case counts do not include self-administered home tests. The updated Amador County COVID-19 dashboard provides specific demographic and geographic data: http://www.amadorgov.org/services/covid-19
Sutter Amador Hospital has thirteen patients hospitalized due to COVID illness. Of those in the hospital, only one is vaccinated but has not had a booster. Two additional COVID deaths were confirmed this week, both females in their 70’s.

The federal government has officially launched their website offering four free rapid antigen test kits to every residential address in the United States. Those interested in ordering free at-home COVID-19 tests may visit: https://www.covidtests.gov/. If you test positive with any at home test, please follow current self-isolation guidelines and inform your close contacts to self-quarantine.

COVID-19 testing options within Amador and the surrounding areas are listed on the Amador County Testing Sites website. The local OptumServe testing site operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 7 AM to 7 PM. Please register for this no-cost testing at the lhi.care website or by calling 1-888-634- 1123. OptumServe may accommodate walk-ins on a limited basis. Masks are required at the testing site. Anyone with any symptoms, even fully vaccinated individuals, should isolate and test.

COVID-19 vaccines are available for everyone age 5 and over. No-cost COVID-19 vaccine clinics, located at the Health and Human Services Building, are held on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 AM to 6 PM. Walk-in opportunities may be limited. To ensure an appointment visit the myturn.ca.gov website or call 1-833-422-4255. To schedule an appointment for a homebound individual call Amador Public Health at (209) 223-6407. Retail pharmacy COVID-19 vaccination availability may be checked at vaccines.gov.
