Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Meeting Update For This Morning

San Andreas, CA...We would like to thank Hanna Alldrin for covering the BOS meeting for us today. We will have the video hopefully up later today(7/23). Due to the length of the meeting is not becoming available until then..... Here are some of her observations on the Public Comment portion this morning. Supervisor Tryon brought forth that he wanted, and the public had the right to know, the terms and conditions of Ms. Moreno's resignation and the amount paid her made public and that he hopes the Board does not follow the same path as in the Waller Case. County Council Jim Jones said...

the county is not prepared to release anything else at this time. Supervisor Chair Steve Wilensky commented that this was not on today's agenda and documents will be released with proper legal process. Supervisor Callaway spoke and said that she stood by the Grand Jury Report but it is time for the county to start the healing process. There were also several positive comments from the public in support of the Boards decision on the CDA Director.

Some more on the meeting:

This week, July 21~27th was approved as "Invasive Weed Week" in Calaveras County. Department of Agriculture spoke and stated that yellow star thistles are dangerous and need to be removed from properties ASAP in order to attack this weed problem. They went on to explain alternative to removing the weeds. Alternative include: spraying weed killers and also using goats on large properties. Transline "Weed Killer" is $30.00 per acre.

The Project to improve the safety on Mountain Ranch Road was approved by the Board 5-0. This project will take place on Luck Jim Mine with two 400 feet shoulders.
