Discover How the Master Gardener's Garden Has Grown on July 26th...The Children's Garden Will Also Be Open!
San Andreas, CA....Many county residents have watched the Master Gardeners’ Demonstration Garden develop into a unique learning facility. Hundreds of residents have visited the garden and participated in the Master Gardeners’ Open Garden Days. If you have not yet had a chance to visit the garden, be sure and come to their monthly Open Garden Day on Saturday, July 26, from 10 AM to 2 PM. The garden is located at the Government Center, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas.....
At 10 AM, Master Gardeners will offer a tour of the garden highlighting how the garden has grown this year. See the unique fruit and vegetables planted in the numerous raised beds, as well as techniques used for growing them. Learn about problems encountered at the garden and ways to resolve many common gardening challenges.
At 11 AM, the Children’s Garden will be open and Master Gardeners will help youngsters create their own garden stepping stones to take home or leave in the children’s garden
Activities and gardening information is offered free of charge. Master Gardeners are available to answer questions and give out handy reference “Quick Tip” cards on many common home pest and weed problems. Tips on controlling gophers will be featured this month.
When the garden is not open, home gardening assistance is offered by Master Gardeners through the Help Line: 754-2880. The public may call the number, leave a message regarding the problem, and a Master Gardener will return the call.
The Demonstration Garden is a project of the Calaveras County Master Gardeners whose primary goal is educating the public about home gardening. The garden has been under construction for several years with all funding coming from Master Gardeners, UC Cooperative Extension, grants, and private donations.
