In a lot of ways. Yes, he was. He was also famously flawed in some actions. Which makes him all the more human and relateable. We should all be so human and self aware.

He was. If only a handful of our local Republicans could live up to the example Powell set, however we all know that's too much to ask, or expect. The local ideal being Tom McClintock. Just makes ya wanna puke.

How sad how many different disasters we are fighting and no let up in sight. I wish this administration would sit down and take a time out. It just seems that whoever is really making the decisions in the WH needs to be canned. Maybe it's time to actually listen to some Republicans for a change, because in 9 months we've had nothing but one disaster after another.
" The unforeseen consequences of vaccine mandates are continuing to backfire by causing more pain across the country with airline and hospital worker shortages; supply chain disruptions are causing enormous economic concern; the prices of oil, gasoline and groceries are all on the rise; and the Virginia governor’s race is on the verge of getting away from the Democrats. Joe Biden needs to make an abrupt change double quick.

Biden’s border crisis, Biden’s crime crisis, Biden’s inflation crisis and Biden’s Afghanistan crisis – while still ongoing disasters – are getting pushed out of the headlines because the mainstream media fully supports the Biden administration and frankly, it’s getting impossible to cover it all. And, set aside for a moment the slow-moving train wreck that is the Hunter Biden conflict of interest saga. The unforeseen consequences of vaccine mandates are continuing to backfire by causing more pain across the country with airline and hospital worker shortages; supply chain disruptions are causing enormous economic concern; the prices of oil, gasoline and groceries are all on the rise; and the Virginia governor’s race is on the verge of getting away from the Democrats. And, set aside for a moment the slow-moving train wreck that is the Hunter Biden conflict of interest saga"
"The president’s popularity is falling like a lead balloon, because, well, no one ever actually really liked Joe Biden or his policies very much – including his radical progressive base. According to a recent Quinnipiac poll, Biden’s job approval rating right now stands at 38% approve and 53% disapprove. Juxtapose these numbers with data from just two months ago, when the president’s average approval rating was 50% approve and 46% disapprove, according to Real Clear Politics."

        HERE COMES THE INTERESTING PART

"With the mainstream media, deep state and social media all fully Trump deranged and in Biden’s hip pocket ready to help at a moment’s notice, amazing things can happen. So, get ready for Joe Biden and Anthony Fauci to shock America. In order to stop the economic hemorrhaging and sagging poll numbers, Biden could announce we have achieved herd immunity in the fight against COVID-19 – whether it’s true or not"

Let's see if all of a sudden Biden and the fraud Fauci ( because he doesn't always follow science) they say, yes!!! We are all good folks. Then maybe Joe's numbers will magically rise because too many people are not smart enough to see they have been manipulated all along by a basement dweller who can not handle the position he's in, he's always ridden on the coattails of others.

        RIP Colin Powell

Doesn't Civil Service means they are supposed to serve those that actually pay their salaries?

We are now their servants and we are just supposed to pay, pay and pay and obey obey and obey with appropriate obsequiousness to those who have never actually done anything useful in their entire lives.

If we don't or even question them we will be erased from society, lose our jobs and if they deem appropriate even face legal challenges.

Oh yes, those must be the "Civil Servants" you speak so reverently about.

I must pay fealty especially to my beloved transportation secretary who had to go on an 8 week maternity leave in the middle of the biggest transportation mess in years.

He can do more to unlock our ports and get our economy flowing while he is changing diapers than us mere mortals do in a lifetime.

What do you think Cabinet level executives do? Pilot the ship into Long Beach Harbor? There are about 100,000 professional staff in the TPT department. Surely you understand the difference between a political appointment and a professional.

Powell's famous lie at the UN, and going along with the Iraq, Afghan war was a character flaw, a great one.
To know what war is as he did and to lie knowing he wasopening up the gates of hell as it was termed, all because baby bush, and the sociopathic Republicans wanted a war, is a war crime.

All the cast in the bush.cheney sociopathy, the lies, death, torture, loss of our rights is the legacy of the sociopathic Republicans.

9-11 was warned about for 6 months it's in the 9-11 report, many pages of the evidence bush cheney Republicans ignored the intel countless times.

More that Powell's "character flsw", this was an example of America's character flaw, to allow our military to be used by the corporations Halliburton a prime example all to make $.

This is the legacy of the bush cheney Republican 9-11 years.

Powell later admitted his lying about the wmds in Iraq was a huge mistske and his support of the illegal war.
Alan Greenspan in a House hearing on the 2008 sub prime crisis said "oops" I was wrong.

So these Republicans can make huge blunders, that shook the world, and they apologize?

Just 2 examples, already mentioned was the bush/cheney ignoring the 9-11 warnings for 6 months.

The irony of these recall supporting pipe dreamers.
Almost 300 million dollars was wasted on this joke of a recall. Yet you scream about your tax dollars being used/wasted for anything else in California. That was your hard earned money that went up in smoke. I find it odd, within the inability to see how this bizarre behavior and actions consume your lives. Just like a child does.
