Eugene Robinson: “How did we become, in such alarming measure, so dumb? Why is the news dominated by ridiculous controversies? When did so many of our fellow citizens become full-blown nihilists who deny even the concept of objective reality?”

Remember when logic, science, and progress was our goal?

Yes, I do. The GOP barely scaped 10 votes together tonight to agree to pay the credit card bill for all the *bleep* they bought under Trump.

When did the GOP become the party of "We aren't going to pay our bills?" I thought they were still trying to spin themselves as the party of fiscal responsibility? I just don't see it from them anymore.

At least they did in the end.

What's the excuse for the other 39 Repubs in the Senate? They really want to destroy the economy? Or just not smart enough to understand how to do their job?

Good segue by Schumer from ridiculing the GOP for their dangerous brinksmanship to talking about passing the Build Back Better agenda.

That certainly explains why he cannot lead the Republicans to cover debt they largely created.

A top Oklahoma Republican will become a Democrat to defeat Gov Kevin Stitt in 2022. Before you say a Dem can't win in Oklahoma, Joy Hofmeister is State Superindendent, was re-elected, and serves on or leads 40 commissions/boards in the state. We need this to happen in Red states.

Leading them to where is the question? Hell is presume or at least some form of purgatory. Seriously Musk just moved Tesla from CA.

A Maryland man shot and killed his brother and sister-in-law for administering COVID-19 vaccines. His brother, a pharmacist, was “killing people” with the vaccine. Trump, the GOP and Fox have radicalized Americans into domestic terrorists.

Got to feel bad for all the Senior Tesla Women. I hope they resign en masse.

Kinda *bleep*ty in my mind... flee the state that kept you afloat with EV policies, and move to a state so you can cut salaries and pay less tax. I guess values don't matter anymore. Just making a buck off the back of your employees who are now 25% cheaper.

And they still won't pay tax. I heard Elon at Recode last week... I don't think he understands marginal tax because he kept saying how he will be paying 52% on all his income when his options vest. That's not how income tax tiers work, dude.

Typical Dem. Please go purchase an ev that can rival a Tesla to meet all your ev goals. Oh wait you can't because they don't exist yet and Biden will pay purchasers $15-$20k of Taxpayer money to purchase those Union Bilt models.

Not a bad scam if you can payoff your election donors with taxpayer money.
