Why isn't free Ivermectin being distributed? There should be something we can give our kids.

Those uninformed and selfish Mark Twain Elementary parents SHOULD pull their kids out but where exactly do they think they're going? Doubtful any of them are willing to commit to home schooling and keeping their kids on track academically. And all other county schools are operating under a mask mandate. Perhaps they haven't noted that Calaveras High School's homecoming is now postponed and student athletes will have to test weekly because of an outbreak on that campus? Or how about the 42-year old San Andreas CHP officer who died of COVID complications last week along with a few more locals in the past couple of weeks? It was also wrong of the one Mark Twain district rep to say she felt like those dissenting parents were "let down" by the school board. Rather, the board is following state guidelines AND keeping our children safe.

Wait until vaccines are available for children 12 and under. Some liberal leaning state, possibly many, will be passing laws mandating parents vaccinate their small children. Failure to comply? That will be child endangerment, as it should be. Next stop, placement of those children in homes where they'll be safe. That's what's coming for you antivax nutjobs and your children. Better be ready to move.

Using data from Medicare and Medicaid, data analysis from the Kaiser Family Foundation found that each preventable Covid hospitalization costs about $20,000. Treating hospitalized, unvaccinated patients reached $5.7 billion over the last three months. Perhaps it's time for those so willing to risk the health of others put their money where their mouths are and take on a greater share of their own medical costs.

Only $20,000? That number seems extraordinarily low.

It does...although perhaps they are offsetting with all the free testing and free vaccine distribution costs. Not all paid by the same payer.
