California Nurse Shortage Reaches “Crisis Level” As Vaccine Mandate Wards Off Traveling Nurses
Posted on: 2021-09-03 07:48:20   By: Anonymous

As America’s hospital beds have again filled with sick COVID patients, nurses and other healthcare workers have been quitting at the fastest rate since the early days of the pandemic, when nurses in some NYC hospitals were using garbage bags instead of PPE.

Across the Internet, on subreddits and in Facebook groups, nurses have gathered to commiserate.

But it’s not just remote areas of Arkansas and Mississippi that are having problems. Local media in California have reported that across the Golden State, low staffing levels have reached a “crisis point”.

According to a story published by a newspaper in Bakersfield, in the past month, no fewer than four emergency room nurses have quit at one Eureka hospital.

And aside from the burnout and the pressure and the stress, nurses have also cited California’s mandatory vaccination rule as one reason they’re thinking about leaving the state. Traveling nurses have been turning down assignments in the Golden State at record rates because they don’t want to get vaccinated – and the mandate hasn’t even taken effect yet.

Cole of Scripps Health said the state’s testing requirement, imposed last week, already has discouraged some out-of-state, traveling nurses from taking temporary jobs at California hospitals.

“If they don’t want to get vaccinated, they are turning down California assignments,” he said.

Here’s more according to Bakersfield.com:

Hospitals are struggling to comply with the state’s nurse staffing requirements as pandemic-induced burnout has exacerbated an already chronic nursing shortage nationwide.

But burnout isn’t the only thing compounding California’s nursing shortage: The state’s new vaccine mandate for health care workers is already causing headaches for understaffed hospitals before it is even implemented. Some traveling nurses – who are in high demand nationwide – are turning down California assignments because they don’t want to get vaccinated.

With more people coming in for routine care that can’t be delayed any longer, hospitals are nearing a “crisis point” as the staffing shortages leave them in danger of not meeting the state’s legal minimum staffing requirements.

Hospitals say they are reaching a crisis point, straining under the dual forces of more people seeking routine care and surging COVID-19 hospitalizations driven by the Delta variant.

“Oftentimes at hospitals there are long waits and long delays,” said Dr. Tom Sugarman, an emergency physician in the East Bay and senior director of government affairs at Vituity, a physicians’ group. “There’s not enough staff to keep beds open, and patients can languish waiting.”

Nursing shortages were common in California even before the pandemic. But now resources are nearing “the breaking point”. Every time case numbers seem like they’re finally about to subside, a new wave of cases rises up.

Emotional and physical exhaustion is the primary reason nurses are fleeing the bedside, experts say. It has been a long and brutal 18 months.

“We thought the pandemic would be over soon and could take time later to deal with our emotions,” said Zenei Triunfo-Cortez, president of National Nurses United, the largest nursing union in the country, which has more than 100,000 members in its California association. “Then the second surge hit, and the third and now it’s the fourth.”

Mary Lynn Briggs, an ICU nurse in Bakersfield, said of the dozens of COVID-19 patients she has treated since the pandemic began, only three have survived.

“Some days coming home from the hospital I yell at God, I yell at myself, I yell at COVID and cry. And that’s all before I pull into my driveway,” Briggs said.

A surprising number of nurses are wary of the vaccines, so Gov. Newsom’s requirement that nurses and hospital staff must get vaccinated could end up being the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

Hospital administrators worry that the state’s vaccine mandate for health care workers, which goes into effect Sept. 30, could drive some of their workers out. Already, some report resistance among employees.

“One hospital told us they had 474 unvaccinated employees. They did a big education and incentive push. Only 12 people signed up,” said Richardson, the hospital association’s attorney.

Administrators are particularly concerned about low vaccination rates among support staff like janitors and food service workers. However, some nurses also are wary of the COVID-19 vaccine. Some nurses with large social media followings have participated in protests in Southern California, arguing that the mandates violate their personal freedom.

With staffing levels low across the US, traveling nurses working in temporary roles have been critical to help shore up hospital staff. But they’re also allowing nurses who don’t want to comply with vaccine mandates to simply pick up and leave. One expert said traveling nurses in Texas and Florida might be coming from California.

Nationwide more than 52,000 temporary health care jobs are posted, and Aya is only able to fill about 3,000 per week, she said.
“In the 16 years I’ve been in this space, I have never seen this high a need,” Morris said.

That need is creating intense competition for a limited pool of nurses nationwide.

“Nurses are getting paid premiums to work in Texas and Florida where it’s surging right now,” Sugarman said. “Those nurses have to come from somewhere, and I wouldn’t be surprised if some are coming from California.”

In short: vaccine mandates for health-care workers (most of whom have already been infected with COVID) are probably doing more harm than good as far as creating a safe and stable health-care system in the Golden State. Maybe Gov. Newsom (or his successor) should give it a rethink?

Let's be clear... if they work in health care, but don't want to get vaccinated.. I want them nowhere near a California Medical Facility. That's EXACTLY why we have that rule. To keep medical staff who want to work with leaches and horse dewormer out of our ERs.

Ultra-Vaxxed Israel Now Has Highest CV Case Rate In The World; Sweden Bans Travelers From Israel
Posted on: 2021-09-03 07:49:59   By: Anonymous

Ultra-vaxxed Israel is now the “Covid capital of the world.”

The Pfizer mRNA jab efficacy at preventing infection appears to be approaching zero now in Israel. The CDC claimed last week that vax efficacy at prevention infection had plummeted from 91% to 66% in America (it’s undoubtedly much, much worse).

From The Daily Mail, “Israel is now the world’s Covid hotspot: Cases soar despite country’s trail-blazing vaccine roll-out – sparking fears other highly-vaccinated countries will be hit by another wave due to jabs’ waning immunity”:

Israel has become the Covid capital of the world despite leading the charge on vaccines, in a clear warning sign that Britain, the US and other highly-immunised nations are still vulnerable to another wave.

Stats compiled by Oxford University-backed research team Our World in Data shows there were a record 1,892 Covid cases per million people in Israel on Wednesday — nearly 0.2 per cent of the entire population in a single day.

That was significantly higher than second worst-hit Mongolia, where the rate was 1,119 per million, and double the figures for Kosovo (980), Georgia (976) and Montenegro (909), which rounded out the top five.

The figure only looks at one day’s worth of tests and Israel’s high rate is thought to have been driven up by a huge testing push ahead of schools reopening there.

But the country has consistently reported some of the highest infection rates in the world since mid-August amid an unprecedented third wave, despite being one of the most vaccinated nations in the world.

For comparison, 522 people per million in the UK tested positive yesterday and the figure was closer to 595 in the US. It suggests protection gained from vaccines is starting to buckle in the face of the highly-transmissible Delta variant.

Solution?

Endless boosters!

What could possibly go wrong???

From July 2015, National Geographic, “Leaky Vaccines Enhance Spread of Deadlier Chicken Viruses”:

Over the past fifty years, Marek’s disease—an illness of fowl—has become fouler. Marek’s is caused by a highly contagious virus, related to those that cause herpes in humans. It spreads through the dust of contaminated chicken coops, and caused both paralysis and cancer. In the 1970s, new vaccines brought the disease the under control. But Marek’s didn’t go gently into that good night. Within ten years, it started evolving into more virulent strains, which now trigger more severe cancers and afflict chickens at earlier ages.

Andrew Read from Pennsylvania State University thinks that the vaccines were responsible. The Marek’s vaccine is “imperfect” or “leaky.” That is, it protects chickens from developing disease, but doesn’t stop them from becoming infected or from spreading the virus. Inadvertently, this made it easier for the most virulent strains to survive. Such strains would normally kill their hosts so quickly that they’d die out. But in an immunised flock, they can persist because their lethal nature has been neutered. That’s not a problem for vaccinated individuals. But unvaccinated birds are now in serious trouble.

[…] The duo infected vaccinated and unvaccinated chicks with five different strains of Marek’s virus, of varying virulence. They found that when unvaccinated birds are infected with mild strains, they shed plenty of viruses into their surroundings. If they contract the most lethal strains, they die before this can happen, and their infections stop with them. In the vaccinated chicks, this pattern flips. The milder strains are suppressed but the lethal ones, which the birds can now withstand, flood into the environment at a thousand times their usual numbers.

Read and Nair also found that the “lethal” strains could spread from one vaccinated individual to another, and that unvaccinated chickens were at greatest risk of disease and death if they were housed with vaccinated ones.

From Business Insider last week, “Pfizer’s CEO tell us why he thinks we’ll need COVID-19 vaccines every year, like flu shots”:

Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla predicted in a Wednesday interview that people will most likely need annual COVID-19 booster shots, a sign that we’ll be contending with the novel coronavirus for years to come.

Speaking with Insider by phone, Bourla acknowledged the uncertainty around his guess. But he said he believes regular vaccinations will be needed because of the potential for new variants to emerge and vaccine protection to wane over time.

“The most likely scenario is we will be needing annual re-vaccination, as we do with the flu vaccine,” Bourla said.

Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, which was co-developed with the German biotech BioNTech, is on track to be one of the pharmaceutical industry’s best-selling drug of all time in 2021. Pfizer estimates the vaccine will generate $33.5 billion in revenue this year.

[…] Over the last few months, Pfizer and Bourla have argued that an initial booster shot would likely be needed six to 12 months after initial vaccination.

Is creating a Marek’s disease in humans as a business model the goal?

Misleading. Israel was first.. .by several months. As such the immunity of their initial vaccinations are several months less effective than the rest of the world.. such as the US that only started in April at Scale.

So while I think that might be true, it's a) expected, and b) evidence that the Vaccines work as expected. and that C) a booster is probably required.

Nothing surprising there. Even Trump said this.

The vaccine is NOT 100 percent protection or a cure all. Israel, while highly vaccinated, is still has only 58 percent of its population vaccinated. There are millions under the age of 12 and many more that chose not to vaccinate. Those seriously ill and in ICU from covid in Israel are 90+ percent unvaccinated. No different figures than here. The unvaccinated seniors are still 9 times more likely to get covid and non-seniors unvaccinated twice as likely to get covid. Israel's percentages here are no different than what th US is showing.

The vaccine is only one thing to do to help get rid of covid. Everyone (vaccinated/unvaccinated) should still mask, wash hands often, social distance, etc. until covid is stopped. Protect yourself and those you love the best way you can.

Did Biden Intentionally Screw Up In Afghanistan For China’s Benefit?
Posted on: 2021-09-03 07:55:59   By: Anonymous

Taliban and China team up following US withdrawal.
There's a reason people call him Beijing Biden!

Joe Biden has been long-rumored to be under the thumb of the Chinese government, and his Afghanistan debacle could have just made the case for that theory even stronger.

A recent declaration by the Taliban claims China is now the terror group’s “most important partner.”

Additionally, China is allegedly reverse engineering U.S. military equipment left behind and now being used by the Taliban.

Ever since the infamous laptop belonging to Joe’s son Hunter Biden surfaced, the family’s connection to the communist nation has been in question.

After all, Hunter claimed the top spy chief of China was his “business partner” and Joe’s brother Jim was caught sending bank wiring instructions to the same Chinese spy chief who later went missing.

In leaked audio, Hunter implicated his father Joe in his Chinese business dealings when he claimed his “best friend” and business partner Devin Archer secretly named both Joe and Hunter as witnesses in a criminal case in the Southern District of New York.

In October 2020, a Biden insider named Tony Bobulinski claimed he he personally witnessed former Vice President Joe Biden discussing business deals with Hunter.

Bobulinski also confirmed that an email published by the New York Post where Hunter Biden referred to someone as “the big guy” was authentic and that Joe Biden is “the big guy.”

In the “big guy” email, Hunter discusses “remuneration packages” in a deal with now-bankrupt CEFC China Energy Co. where Hunter Biden proposed an equity split resulting in “’20’ for ‘H’ and ’10 held by H for the big guy.'”

According to a U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs report, within two weeks of “the big guy” email CEFC wired $5 million to a Delaware LLC, which spent the next year transferring nearly $4.8 million directly to Hunter Biden’s firm.

Listed as “key contacts” for the Biden-China business dealing by Jim Biden were Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.; Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn.; Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.; Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y.; New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo; New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio; former Virginia Gov. Terry McCauliffe, among others.”

A leaked text message revealed those involved were aware of the trouble that could come with the public finding out about Joe Biden’s involvement in the Chinese business deal.

“Don’t mention Joe being involved, it’s only when you are face to face,” a text from one of Hunter Biden’s business partners reads.

Elaborating on Joe’s involvement, Tony Bobulinski said, “I’ve seen Vice President Biden saying he never talked to Hunter about his business. I’ve seen firsthand that that’s not true, because it wasn’t just Hunter’s business, they said they were putting the Biden family name and its legacy on the line.”

He added, “I realized the Chinese were not really focused on a healthy financial ROI. They were looking at this as a political or influence investment.”

Currently, the Biden administration is using fear of climate change to get people used to the idea of a U.S.-China partnership, “Climate Czar” John Kerry saying on Thursday that working with the communists “is of vital importance for responding to the pressing challenge of climate change.”
