Beth Childs/Genna Hurst Scholarship Awarded by Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF)
West Point, CA...The Beth E. Childs/Genna Hurst Renewable Scholarship administered by CCF was awarded recently. The 2021 CCF Scholarship Committee is proud to award this 4-year $4,000 renewable scholarship to Calaveras High School student, Karsyn Miller. The Childs/Hurst scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating student residing in the West Point/Wilseyville area.
Karsyn has maintained a 3.7 GPA throughout her high school years and plans
to become a registered nurse. She plans to begin her college career at Sacramento City College and will then transfer to U.C. Davis. Her passion to help others will be well served in her career choice.
During her high school years, Karsyn was very involved in Future Farmers of America (FFA) where she learned valuable tools including collaboration, teamwork and leadership skills. Being Captain of the Swim Team all 4 years and Captain of the Water Polo Team, for three years, demonstrates what a fine leader she is. All that involvement and Karsyn found time to work at a local restaurant and became the Crew Member Trainer.
CCF is confident that Karsyn will approach her college years with the same determination that she has shown during her high school years at Calaveras High School. Congratulations and Good Luck, Karsyn!
For more information about CCF, call the office at 736-1845 or visit the website: www.calaverascommunityfoundation.org.

Congratulations Karsyn!! Your dedication & hard work towards your goal is already paying off. Stay focused on your goal & you will survive the bumpy trip getting there....although the bumpy part looks like it just got a bit smoother...Good For You Girl!! Our county needs more folks like you to hopefully return and continue to carry the torch in healthcare.

Republicans, including Republican women, support domestic terrorism and the overthrow of our government. Not a one of them could seriously be considered intelligent or smart.

During an event in Alabama this week, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene suggested the crowd greet government volunteers promoting Covid-19 vaccines with guns if they knock on their doors. Meanwhile, look at the states with hospitals filling up with even children infected - no surprise they are Red and GOP. Like Trump, Cruz and others, bet she was first in line to get the vaccine but the enjoy whipping up the crowds with their false and deadly rhetoric.

Amazing. Tpt wipes my response because i can spell Karsyn and call someone Karyn. The fact that someone calls a young woman a Republican gal sounds like an insult in itself.
