Adventist Health Sonora Limits Visitors & Encourages Covid Vaccination Amid Rising Cases

Sonora, CA...Due to increasing levels of community spread of COVID-19, Adventist Health is taking additional steps to ensure the health and safety of patients and staff. As of July 28, one visitor or support person is allowed for most patients. Inpatients in the Birth Center are allowed three visitors for the duration of their stay, and pediatric patients are allowed two visitors. All visitors must be 18 years or older, wear a mask at all times and be screened for COVID-19 exposure and symptoms. COVID-19 patients are not allowed visitors unless approved by hospital department leads.

Additionally, the emergency department is testing all admitted patients for COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status, to reduce the potential for transmission. Patients in other departments who cannot verify vaccination status are also being tested before being admitted.

“We are well prepared with experienced staff, ample supplies, and policies and procedures honed over the last 17 months of frontline pandemic response,” said Michelle Fuentes, President of Adventist Health Sonora. “We are open, safe, and ready to care for our community, with all safety precautions in place that continue to protect our patients, families and caregivers.”

With cases increasing once again in Tuolumne County, Adventist Health Sonora is strongly encouraging community members to get the COVID-19 vaccine, including those who have already had COVID-19. Being vaccinated is the best way to keep our families, friends, and neighbors safe, and it's also the best protection against straining first responders and avoiding the potential for more dangerous variants of the virus from emerging. The COVID-19 vaccines are safe and currently available to anyone age 12 and older for Pfizer and 18 and older for Johnson & Johnson or Moderna. More information is available at www.AdventistHealthSonora.org/COVIDvaccine.

For those experiencing mild to moderate symptoms of COVID-19 or other non-urgent health matters, Adventist Health Sonora encourages patients to monitor symptoms and respond accordingly. Patients may call their primary care provider for advice or consider scheduling a virtual visit. More information on virtual visits and COVID-19 symptoms may be found at www.AdventistHealth.org.

Anyone experiencing a medical emergency, such as difficulty breathing, chest pain, stroke-like symptoms, head injury, a broken bone or burns, should not hesitate to seek immediate care and should call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency department.

The Tuolumne County Public Health Department (TCPH) continues to maintain the Tuolumne County COVID-19 Data Dashboard, which can be found on their website at https://www.tuolumnecounty.ca.gov/250/Public-Health. Anyone who has traveled or attended a recent event is urged to get tested five days after the event or return from travel.

According to TCPH, the Optum Serve State testing site is now open at the Tuolumne Veteran's Memorial Hall in Tuolumne on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The site is located at 18375 Fir Ave. in Tuolumne. Individuals can schedule appointments at lhi.care/covidtesting or by calling 888-634-1123. Walk-ins are also available. There is no cost to the individual and anyone can get tested.

Get the facts straight, it spreads more but it no worse for sickness than the last. A good doctor can treat you from home and have experience doing so. Some with week immune systems end up in the hospital just like before.

Looking at the numbers in the UK who had this before us, all their cases are dropping quickly. The thinking is that we may have been further into this mutation than first thought (it was already spreading in the vaccinated before noticed, because of not testing the vaccinated or having them wear masks.) If this is the case the numbers will soon start going down.

Yes, it is the vaccinated who did this to us by not wearing masks or distancing.

The reason people who are vaccinated can still spread the virus is the high viral load of this delta variant . When around people you do not know, wear your mask . If you become ill , you may not recover completely . You could be permanently disabled . A mask is sample . Long term health issues are not .

The Delta COVID-19 strain spreads as easily as chickenpox, with fully vaccinated people also transmitting the virus, The Washington Post has reported, citing an internal document from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), expected to be published later on Friday.

The transmissibility of the Delta variant is almost as high as chickenpox, with each infected person, on average, infecting eight or nine others, according to the document.

Fully vaccinated people can transmit the virus as well as unvaccinated people, it also said.

Delta covid being spread by vaccinated or unvaccinated people is not the issue.
It's whether you have a better chance of survival if you have the vaccine. The answer is yes.
Are the chances of spreading the virus greater if you don't wear a mask vs those that do wear a mask.
        The answer is yes.
Why is that so hard to accept?

"It's whether you have a better chance of survival if you have the vaccine. The answer is yes."

This is not set in stone and is just the thinking of some who have made sure to squelch other science and medical professionals with a different opinion.

As the Covid-19 seeking vaccine wears down and you have no natural immune system to protect you, all odds are off with the newer variants happening everyday.

Most getting Covid are able to recover, some not even knowing they had it.

It's a pretty big issue to me that we are going through this again because of the so called professionals advice. Telling the vaccinated not to test, and that they can just do whatever they want without masks.

Vaccinated not being tested were the lepers spreading this new mutation everywhere they went.

Oh puleeeese! Don’t you dare twist this to have anyone think that those of us who did the right and smart thing by getting vaccinated are in some way the super spreaders. You are pathetic.

Listen to the news tonight about the exposure in Cape Cod and the study they did on it. Also read the Washington Post article. In a state that has a better vaccination rate than California by far, Massachusetts had five sites or events with exposure and 900 people test positive for Covid/Delta and of those, 75% of them were fully vaccinated. They also found in the study that the nasal swab showed just as much virus in the noses of vaccinated people as those unvaccinated. Fauci tonight that our best protection is to be vaccinated because 99.5% of those dying from the virus are those unvaccinated. It is not stopping the spread but it is keeping you alive.

Stop watching CNN=Communist Network News and lying Fauci. If you are vaccinated then you have a 0.000001% of getting the virus.
