Take A Ride on the Calaveras County Transit~Hanna Alldrin
Calaveras County, CA....Are you one of the thousands of people who think gas prices are too high? If you are then you need to check out our local transportation, the Calaveras County Transit. The Calaveras County transit is inexpensive transportation located in the beautiful foothills. Each bus is air conditioned with very comfortable seats making your ride even more enjoyable. The buses are open to everyone, however small children must be accompanied by an adult. With gas prices soaring to almost $5.00 per gallon, the Calaveras Transit is a perfect opportunity to save money or to transport you and your family to a wonderful destination. The rates........
are as followed: One way is $1.50 regular and $.75 discounted, Lodi pass is $3.00 regular and $1.50 discounted, All day pass is $4.00 regular and N/A for discounts, Ticket Book is $20.00 regular and $10.00 discounted, Children under 8 are FREE, and all transfers are FREE.
All routes operate Monday through Friday except holidays. They regularly have 7-8 buses running a day between 5am and 10pm. No service holidays include: New Years Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
On our route to Copperopolis we had a scheduled "Route Deviation." A route deviation is a pick up or drop off at locations that are between regular scheduled stops. You may request deviations up to 3/4 mile from the route at no extra charge. Number of deviations may be limited in order to maintain schedule. They ask if you call at least one hour in advance to schedule your pick up or drop off. Deviation requests are accepted up to one week in advance. They also ask if you are ready five minutes early and call ahead to cancel if necessary.

Route 1: Valley Springs ~San Andreas ~ Angels Camp ~San Andreas ~ Valley Springs
Route 2:Rail Road Flat ~Mountain Ranch ~ San Andreas ~Jackson ~ San Andreas ~ Mountain Ranch ~ Rail Road Flat
Route 3: San Andreas ~ West Point ~San Andreas
Route 4: Arnold ~ Murphys ~ Angels Camp ~ Glory Hole ~ Columbia College ~ Angels Camp ~ Murphys ~ Arnold
Route 5: Angels Camp ~Copperopolis~Angels Camp
Route 6: San Andreas ~Valley Springs ~Lodi~ Valley Springs~ San Andreas
To ride the buss the drivers ask if you follow the following rules and regulations to make everyones ride a fun and safe environment. Have your fare ready. Fare must be presented when boarding the bus. Please have exact change, as the bus drivers carry none. Children under 6 years old must be accompanied by a person over the age of 12. No eating or smoking on the bus. Non-alcoholic beverages are allowed in spill-proof containers. No pets are allowed. Service animals are welcome to accompany the disabled. No public music. Music is allowed only through the use of headphones.
Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times. No wet clothing is permitted. No offensive language is allowed. Violence, or vandalism is not allowed and subject to full prosecution.
