ICU Nurse Achieves Dream of Becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner
San Andreas, CA...Mark Twain Medical Center RN to care for community at the Copper Clinic Long time Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) ICU Nurse and Copperopolis resident Polly Dodds has achieved her dream of becoming a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner. MTMC is proud to share this news with the community and that we will have an additional provider in Copperopolis. “We believe that all persons deserve the best care and access to services, remarked Doug Archer, President and CEO of MTMC. “Polly’s been caring for some of our most vulnerable and sick patients throughout her career. She has a perspective that will be of tremendous value and insight as a Nurse Practitioner. In addition to her intensive care nursing experience, she has also been providing emergency care in the valley.”
“Polly has been a valued member of our health care team as an Intensive Care Unit RN for many years,” stated Dr. Kelaita. We are thrilled to welcome her into our organization in a new role as Nurse Practitioner. Our patients and community will be well served by Polly in this new capacity.”
“I have spent twelve years in the intensive care unit at MTMC, stated Polly Dodds. “The hospital community has supported me from a new graduate nurse to nurse practitioner and all the steps in between. I have loved supporting my community through my work as an intensive care nurse. And now I look forward to following a new path as a Family Nurse Practitioner giving care to my neighbors throughout Calaveras County, with the goal of joining with patients to preserve and improve their health throughout their lifespan."
Polly first obtained her Associate of Science in Nursing at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, and then earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas and achieved her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner through California State University, Stanislaus, in Turlock.
