Challenge to Obamacare's Mandate Fails at Supreme Court

Washington, DC...The US Supreme Court ruled on a 7-2 vote that Obamacare will live on. This challenge centered around the mandate and the court ruled those who brought the legal action did not have standing to do so. From the opinion of the court.. "Tax Clause (nor any other enumerated power) grants Congress the power to enact it. See U. S. Const., Art. I, §8. They also argue that the minimum essential coverage requirement is not severable from the rest of the Act. Hence, they believe the Act as a whole is invalid. We do not reach these questions of the Act’s validity, however, for Texas andthe other plaintiffs in this suit lack the standing necessary to raise them." The full opinion is below...

Republican Death Party
Posted on: 2021-06-17 09:08:25   By: Anonymous

Yeah! Americans can continue to have comprehensive health care at a reasonable price.
The Republican death for millions effort failed.
Medicare for all is next.

America is the only country without paid healthcare for all it's citizens.

Fascinating that so many "red" state governors are now suggesting they might just like to keep it, too. Their constituents found out that having affordable health care isn't such a bad thing after all, especially when so many community hospitals can ill afford to keep paying their bills gratis.

The US pays 17% of GDP to the health ins cos.
Other countries with single payer pay from 7% to 10%.
The heath outcomes are better in these countries. The US lags behind most all countries in outcomes.
The US is rated at 17th in infant mortality and 12th for maternal mortality, this is a crime, when the US is the wealthiest country in the world.

Even with Obamacare if you pay for medical, go to the hospital and find out what you pay out of pocket! Like Biden just said, “big f___ing deal.” This only promotes people to not work. Some work for a company and can’t even get medical. If you voted for Biden, I hope you have to pay for medical insurance. (No more freebies) get your ass to work and at least try!!!!

    The Reason Why
Posted on: 2021-06-17 11:12:00   By: Anonymous

The SCOTUS today voted to affirm the present 20-30% guaranteed profit of the ACA which is in the act.
If the SCOTUS would of ruled against, The Democrats would immediately pass a Medicare for all bill which would of been a huge loss for the ins cos , the parasite which sucks 17% of America's GDP would be gone.
Other countries spend 7-10% of GDP on health care have better drug pricing, and outcomes . They spend 2% on administration, as Medicare does now.We need a single payer system.
The SCOTUS saved the health ins cos in effect.
The parasite continues to suck out our economy.

The GOP would rather have a system where a handful of Healthcare corporations control the industry making competition among a few the norm.
Universal Healthcare seems to be a better option for those with the best medical coverage. With that the premium ensured families will have the best doctors.
Kinda defeats the GOP mantra of a monopoly in the Twitter industry.

It works perfect if you don’t make any money. If you are self employed you get super high premiums and literally zero coverage on your plan!! Covered California is a JOKE!!! Just like the rest of the unaffordable Obamacare!!!

    It All Depends On Income

    Self employed -no problem.
What your income tax 1040 shows is what matters.
A silver plan whether single or with dependents is what the premium is about.
The silver plan is a good plan includes a catastrophic no limit plan. Hospital treatment, drugs all included.
The co-pays are low, deductibles reasonable.
When many Conservatives learn the facts, the ACA is a good deal.
When they are told it is Obamacare, they say, "well he did one good thing anyway".
It's time for single payer, until that happens, we have the ACA.

As a MAGA FAG I DEMAND that you stop with the facts and logic. Our side can't possibly argue that.

We just have what Q tells us to beleive. And he's been pretty quiet on this one. So, can we please return to conversations about Trump being Reinstated? We have speaking points for that one.

Remember when if you had a pretty-existing condition that you couldn’t buy insurance or had to pay ridiculous premiums? Remember when insurance could just drop you?

    Obamacare ended these things.

Pre Existing Conditions like 'Pregnancy". Yup.

I was going to start a small business when I was pregnant. But couldn't because I wouldn't have coverage. Way to destroy small businesses there GOP. Force people to work for 'the man' if they want health care. Just total BS.

Universal Heathcare for all legal residents. Pay program for non legal residents. Any objections?
