Columbia College Begins Third Summer Session on July 14
Columbia, CA...Columbia College promotional materials encourage everyone to make the most of summer by taking a college class. As such, the college’s second session is now half over, the third and final session starts on July 14. Registration can take place at any time. A list of summer classes can be found online at www.gocolumbia.edu by clicking on the Summer 2008 Summer Schedule link. Printed copies of the schedule are available at sites throughout the county, and at public libraries.....
A number of interesting nature-focused classes are being conducted at the High Sierra Institute at Baker Station during July and August. They are two or three day courses with field studies, which offer college credit. The site is at the 6,200 foot elevation near Kennedy Meadow on Highway 108.
Student registration can be done online at www.gocolumbia.edu and clicking on connectColumbia; by touch-tone phone at 536-5400, or in person at the admissions and records offices at the Sonora campus, 588-5231 and the Calaveras Center in Angels Camp, 736-5940. College offices are closed on Fridays through Aug. 15.
Community education classes also offer recreational opportunities through day excursions, sports clinics for youth, travel, and more. These fee-funded classes can also be found in the printed college class schedules and at the college website by clicking on Community Education.
