Heat Warnings Continue Till Tuesday Evening. Temps 20 - 25 Degrees Cooler in High Country

Arnold, CA...An early-season heat event will impact interior northern California early this week due to high pressure in place over the region. High temperatures will climb above the century mark across much of the Valley and lower foothills today. Expected highs across the Valley and foothills will range from 95 to 110 degrees.

These hot afternoon temperatures combined with warm overnight lows in the 60s to mid 70s will result in widespread moderate to high heat risk. The Delta Breeze will bring cooling to the Sacramento and Stockton areas on Tuesday while it will still remain hot further inland.

The complete warning from the National Weather Service is below...

...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO

around 108 degrees, hottest today. Delta breeze cooling Tuesday
for Sacramento and Stockton areas but still hot further
inland.

* WHERE...Southern Sacramento Valley, Northern San Joaquin Valley
and surrounding foothills.

* WHEN...From noon today to 9 PM PDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Widespread moderate to high heat risk. Heat-related
illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke can occur
due to prolonged exposure to hot temperatures. Most vulnerable
include children, the elderly, those without air conditioning,
and those with chronic ailments. Holiday travelers, hikers,
campers, and outdoor enthusiasts should prepare for the
excessive heat.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
