Utica Park was Filled as Leila & Pink Flower Take the 2021 ACBA Jr. Frog Jump

Angels Camp, CA...One of the greatest joys we have had in the 16+ years of The Pine Tree is covering our local parades, events & especially the Frog Jump! It combines Gold Rush history, Americana & Small town fun in a great string of events culminating with the Internarial Frog Jump Finals on Sunday . It is also reliably the one weekend each year that Calaveras is a national and international news event to see if Rosie the Ribiter's world record will hold for another year. After a long covid year the frogs are rested and ready to go and if the Jr. Jump was any indicator then the Frog Jump finals this coming Sunday will be hopping. We have photos, video & results below. As the winners Leila & her Frog Pink Flower qualified for the Frog Jump Finals on Sunday!

From ACBA..."We had lots of happy kids waiting eagerly to jump a frog today! With the help of the Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee Frog Jump recorders, lots of awesome volunteers, and amazing families that helped their little ones jump their frogs, this event turned out perfect!

Now on to our impressive little winners...
First Place goes to: Leila with her frog, Pink Flower, who jumped 11' 2.5"
Second Place goes to: Bryce with his frog, Sprig, who jumped 10' 8"
Third Place goes to: Ezequiel with his frog, Henry, who jumped 10' 2"
Fourth Place goes to: Ryanna with her frog, Jeffrey, who jumped 10' 1.75"

Congratulations to all of our participants who joined us today for 2021 Jr. Frog Jump!"

So wonderful to see young families able to get out again and enjoying life. It's going to be a wonderful fair! (And as for some of the other commentators below, sorry you don't have more joy in your life as those pictured obviously do.)
