Angels Camp Says Farewell to Head of Planning Commission~By John Hamilton

Angels Camp, CA...Last night the Angels Camp Planning Commission bid farewell to Commission Chair Roger Neuman who is retiring from the board. He will be replaced in the Chair Position by Gary Croletto and the new Vice-Chair will be Elaine Morris. Angels Camp is now actively seeking another community member who would like ot serve on the planning commission as Roger's seat will remain vacant until a replacement is found. Also at the meeting...

Pictured on left are Commissioner Bob Middleton, Incoming Chairman Gary Croletto, Outgoing Chairman Roger Neuman, Interim Planning Director Bruce Baracco, Commissioner Henry Petithomme and Incoming Vice Chair Elaine Morris.

The proposed addition of a classroom for the Seventh Day Adventist Church moves forward minus Three Parking Spots. The reduction in parking spots was in places that Fire Trucks..Etc would have trouble traversing without the additional room.

After Much Discussion..Albeit much more amenable than at Tuesday's Supervisor's meeting. It was voted to continue cleaning up the Transient Occupancy Guidelines until next month to allow for more research to be done. Anna Guiteriez From Murphys Vacation Rentals attended and spoke about the Transient Rentals of the Cottages at Greenhorn Creek. In a manner somewhat consistent with the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday the Commission recognizes and wants to make sure that short term rentals are encouraged but in a manner that it easier to manage. Some of the discussion centered around licensing and if individual homeowners needed to obtain business licenses to rent their homes. One option may be for a license to be needed only when the property is not managed by a property management company.
