To have a former Austrian citizen explain democracy to Americans should wake some people up.
Our representatives need to understand that our Republic will only be stronger if they remain morally strong.
Trump has been LYING that he lost the election for months.
His super PAC paid for the rally he spoke to on the 6th, in which he told people he was marching with them to stop (the “steal”) or rather the certification of the already state-certified votes.
He riled them up, and told them they could change the outcome by” fighting like hell”.
Once they broke into the Capital, he prevented national guard support for HOURS.
The mob chanted “hang mike pence” as they entered the building. They had erected a gallows. They came with zip tie handcuffs and weapons.
There’s tons of video evidence, from the mob itself. Their motivations are clear. Watch them beat a police officer and drag him into the crowd, watch the mob come so close to members of Congress, watch the woman get shot as she climbs through a broken window because House members were “getting away”.
In real time while Trump's mob was assaulting the halls of our nation's capitol, he was happily watching it happen on television.
Instead of coming forward and addressing the mob while this was occurring, to call them off, he instead got on the phone and called senators, who themselves were sheltering for safety, and proceeded to try to convince them to overturn the election results.
Trump actively planned, directed, and participated in the attempted violent overthrow of our republic. He should be tried, convicted, and publicly executed.
To add insult to injury, he and Rudy were phoning members of Congress reminding them to "do the right thing" and stop the electoral vote certification.

We need to rein in fake news like FOX, OAN, NewsMax. We actually did so as a nation in 1949. Congress passed the "Fairness Doctrine" requiring broadcast licensees to give "honest, equitable & balanced" coverage of news. President Reagan ended it in 1987. We need to reinstate it.
Big tech is just a platform. To say that is akin to saying 'we need to stop selling rifles.' They are just tools. Platforms. They themselves are are the problem. Its the lunatics who misuse them.

Meanwhile, our sitting president seems to have abdicated all responsibility in dealing with the COVID crisis. Hundreds of Americans dying daily and all he could tweet about ad nauseam is the stolen election. Ought to tell you something about his priorities.

I lost all respect for Arnold when he pardoned the son of his former assembly speaker who stabbed a promising young San Diego State college student to death. All because the punk and his friends didn't get into a house party and vented their rage on the first person they encountered on the street. And then there was that little matter of the ex-governor's wife noticing that the housekeeper's son was growing up to look surprisingly like Arnold. Though he may make a valid point, Arnold is as big a hypocrite as they come and hardly the one to be lecturing about right from wrong.

Listening to the classless swearing at and threatening of reporters at Wednesday's event along with their jumping onto artifacts that represent our nation's history, it's difficult to imagine how anybody could have any respect whatsoever left for the Trump followers. They come off as an ignorant bunch of hillbillies and who wants to be associated with that? They lost more of their base that day and they're not coming back.

With some Qanon US Reps just elected being questioned by the FBI for supporting the coup attempt . Also, McConnel, Graham, Cruz, other Senators and Reps Hawley , and others , inside our government gave aid and were part of the attitude bolstered by lies that the election was stolen, after 30 chances in court with no success, it was proven the election was carried off accurately.
These Republicans are traitors, and should be made accountable for their parts in this attempt coup.
