Can Local News Help Save The Country? ~ John Hamilton
Arnold, CA...Local News is is not Democrat or Republican it is local and national news through a local lens. Local News is also the last place we all meet. We believe it is valuable now more than ever. We all want our friends and neighbors to succeed. We All care about our local businesses, schools, health care, traffic, weather, road conditions, government and events. These are our daily lives and not political statements, positions or algorithms.
The title is not hyperbole! National news outlet make their money by constantly keeping you outraged. Divide and try to conquer doesn't work in small communities where it takes everyone left or right to keep the communities moving forward or even functioning in years such as 2020.
What we are seeing in Washington DC today and in the county for much of the last year from BLM and others is in our opinion what happens when you only see the world through an algorithm driven world views. There is 5% on the left and on the right that should never be near the levers of power.
If you get your news through social media or national cable channels you are getting news and programming designed to fit your world view. If the algorithm thinks it can get you to click on content it will give you more of that.
Local news is not that. It is our daily lives. Nothing more, nothing less.
National news outlets are increasingly just click bait for their perceived audiences.
Join us in 2021 to try and bring more local control and content back to our local communities.
