36 New Cases & Another Covid Death in Tuolumne County

Sonora, CA...Tuolumne County is reporting 36 new COVID-19 cases today. All of today’s cases appear to be isolating at home. In addition, 30 previously isolated cases have been released from isolation. One previously hospitalized individual has been discharged and is completing isolation at home. We regret to have to report that another previously hospitalized COVID-positive individual has passed away. Investigations are underway and more details will be released when known. Our deepest condolences go out to his friends and family.

Today’s new cases include: Under 20: Males - 3, Females - 3 20s: Males – 3 Females - 0 30s: Males – 3, Females - 2 40s: Males – 5, Females - 1 50s: Males – 2, Females - 2 60s: Males – 4, Females – 1 70s: Males – 4, Females - 2 80s: Males – 0, Females - 1 90s: Males – 0, Females – 0

One case reported yesterday was discovered to have been a duplicate and has been removed from our case count. The dashboard has been updated to reflect this change.

Tuolumne County and the San Joaquin Valley Region have not yet met the metric to activate the Regional Stay at Home Order. The new Regional Order is a protective measure to limit the spread of COVID-19 and protect the community and hospital frontline workers. The San Joaquin Valley Region currently has 19.7% of ICU beds available. Please stay home, wear a mask, wash your hands, limit your exposure, and get tested! The actions we take today will slow the spread and help keep our communities safe. Follow this link for more information: https://covid19.ca.gov/stay-home-except-for-essential-needs/#regional

As a reminder, the state testing site at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds is now open 7 days a week. Appointments are strongly recommended. Please visit: https://lhi.care/covidtesting to make an appointment.

The COVID-19 call center is open Mon-Fri 9 AM to 5 PM and people who have questions or concerns can call 209-533-7440 for information. People with concerns about new or worsening symptoms can also call the Adventist Health Sonora COVID-19 Triage Line at 209-536-5166 to speak to a nurse or other clinician.
