Senator Borgeas Responds to Governor's Latest Shutdown Orders
Sacramento, CA... Governor Gavin Newsom announced on Thursday that California regions will be placed on a three-week stay-at-home order if ICU bed capacity falls below 15 percent in that given region. Senator Andreas Borgeas (R-Fresno) issued the following statement in response to Governor Newsom’s regional stay-at-home order:

“There is no question that California’s COVID-19 cases are surging,” said Senator Borgeas. “However, if the Governor is going to shut down sectors of the economy, then California’s projected surplus must be used to keep businesses afloat and people working. Nobody likes this situation we are in, but California leaders need to step up and protect public health and the economy.”
Senator Borgeas also announced on Wednesday his intention to introduce the Keep California Working Act, which would invest $2.6 billion (10% of California’s projected surplus) in grants for businesses.

Senator Borgeas represents the 8th Senate District, which encompasses all or portions of Amador, Calaveras, Fresno, Inyo, Madera, Mariposa, Mono, Sacramento, Stanislaus, Tulare, and Tuolumne Counties. The pandemic is bigger than any one state. What’s the point of being the richest country in the world if we won’t help our citizens?

What you all don’t realize is that this virus is so contagious everybody will eventually get it. We just have to slow it down so the health care system isn’t overwhelmed.

Governor Nuuusuum is such a joke. Closing down businesses again is so idiotic. The virus cases are not being spread from businesses but from family households that gather inside their homes without masks. I would feel safer in a business with all of the precautions than in a home full of relatives. This ass hole Governor is playing the role of a health care professional who doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. How many times has he socially gathered at The French Laundry since he got caught several days ago? This Governor needs to be recalled before he destroys California with his ignorant Democratic mindless actions.

What are you talking about? No! The transmission is NOT in households only between family. If so, stay at home orders would be a death sentence.
PEOPLE! Stop going about your social business as usual!
The Governor is brave and in the unenviable position of having to make the toughest and most unpopular decisions, but ones that he has the balls to make and take the drastic measures to wipe out the virus. If we could just STOP for two weeks, we can put this virus to rest! As many people are dying in ONE day as died on 9-11!
Newsom is approaching the closures reasonably and in a regional way, so that only the most severe areas are shut down, relating to the hospital ICU capacities. That makes sense!
In the meantime, the lame duck is playing golf and holding 20 super spreader event Christmas parties at the White House.

What you just said is a bunch of bullish*t! The cases are rising because family members are spreading the virus among each other. You are obviously not in the workforce and getting a paycheck. Shutting down businesses does not work. This Governor needs to be recalled immediately.

Anytime people who don’t live together talk, especially without masks, is a chance to spread the virus, be that if they are spending money or not.

"family members are spreading the virus among each other"
Please tell us all, just where did the family members get the virus to spread among themselves?

All your recall attempts will go for naught.
You can't spell his name correctly so he'll serve his full term.

So your argument centers on the CA governor going to one party with a group of his friends that he assumed have been vigilant in staying safe.
I'm assuming that you believe you have the right to safely meet with your friends because you trust their judgment.
Tough to argue when you have double standards.
By the way, I think Newsom was wrong in what he did.

Now you're getting it. Trump did not tell Americans to be responsible for slowing the spread because of his irresponsibility.
275,000 dead Americans.
15 million cases.
Biden wants Americans to mask up for 100 days.
One is an idiot and one comes up with a solution.
Vaccines will help slow the spread if people get the vaccination.

It's not President Trump's fault for the rise in cases. It is ignorant Americans who defy CDC guidelines.

It's not President Trump's fault?
According to his supporters there are plenty of sheeple.
So, if he were to lead, then many would follow.
That equates to less cases and fewer deaths.
