Bears have been hit in that area too. Slow down people this is the time of year that the deer are running scared because of hunters shooting at them. Happens every year with dead deer left to bloat up and rot as Cal Trans could care less to pick them up.

As far back as I can remember the plant in San Andreas was known as the Portland Cement plant (a different company in the early days I believe) and that bridge was actually part of this private road that started at the quarry up the hill and trucks would take that material (limestone) to the cement plant; hence, Cement bridge and you can just about ask all the old-timers about this.

It is a bridge above the highway. It goes to Quarry 4 between Calaveritas and Fricot Ctiy. The Quarry 4 property is for sale right now. The cement plant on Pool Station Road was always called Calaveras Cement Plant, right up until it was sold to a company in Canada. The Canada company bought it, to put it out of business as the quality was better than theirs. There was also Portland Cement in Oregon as competition. Calaveras Cement Plant had nothing to do with Portland Cement. You have Dementia or just like to make up stories.

To "Dementia": I have talked to several old-timers around here and they have referred it to Portland Cement for some time (don't remember the years and probably after Calaveras Cement). Please don't insult my intelligence. thank you. I personally knew Tony Dutil (late) from Angels Camp and he worked there for many years and I think worked there until it closed down.

Didn’t you get the memo? This is a part of the expanded bypass to isolate the county seat.
