Odin is Your Calaveras Pet of the Week!
San Andreas... Meet Odin, a confident, well-trained boy who was abandoned by his owner. A German Shepherd Dog mix, we estimate him to be between 5 and 6 six years of age. Known for their high intelligence, courage and loyalty, German Shepherd Dogs remain one of the most popular breeds in the country. True to his pedigree, Odin is very social and bonds easily with staff and volunteers. He very much wants to please, willingly obeying “sit,” “stay” and “heel,” but what Odin adores most is a vigorous game of ball. Though Odin enjoys his people time, he doesn’t particularly care for the company of other shelter dogs so we would recommend he be the only dog in your home. At a muscular 74 plus pounds, older children would also likely be best. We believe Odin is housebroken since he keeps his kennel clean.
As with all dogs available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal Shelter, Odin is micro-chipped and up-to-date on routine vaccinations. Already neutered, he is ready to go home with his new family today!
Come visit Odin, impound no. AO51677, along with other dogs and cats awaiting their forever homes at Calaveras County Animal Services, 901 Jeff Tuttle Drive, San Andreas (in government center by the new jail). Animal Services is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday (closed for lunch from 1-2 p.m.). Animal Services now has a Fee Flexibility Program!
When the dog or cat population at the shelter is at 80% or above capacity, the total adoption fee will be 50% off––reduced to $40 for dogs and $30 for cats. The adoption fee for cats who arrive at the shelter already altered will be $10. With the 55-5-5 Program, any time an adopter is 55 or older and adopts any pet over 5 years old, the adoption fee is $5.
