Trump Administration Awards $40 million for Sacramento River Salmon Habitat Improvements

Sacramento, CA...The Bureau of Reclamation announces the selection of four funding award recipients to implement $40 million in salmon habitat improvement projects along the Sacramento River. The restoration projects will enhance and improve spawning and rearing habitat for salmon at approximately 25 different locations across 132 river miles. Each award is for approximately $10 million over a five-year period. Elements of the salmon habitat improvement projects include gravel and coarse sediment additions, side channel and floodplain restoration and enhancement, woody material and boulder additions and riparian plantings. Project locations are along the Sacramento River from Keswick Dam down to the Feather River confluence.

“Reclamation is pleased to make these awards and draw on the expertise of our partners to carry out this important restoration work on the Sacramento River,” said Reclamation Regional Director Ernest Conant. “Our water operations along the Sacramento River are closely intertwined with the health of Chinook salmon populations. We are committed to the restoration actions laid out in our current operating plan to help restore, maintain and improve rearing and spawning habitat.”

The recipients selected by Reclamation through a competitive process are:

Glenn-Colusa Irrigation District — $9,999,423
Glenn-Colusa Irrigation District, on behalf of the Sacramento River Settlement Contractors, will implement seven habitat restoration activities to help restore, maintain, and improve Sacramento River salmon rearing habitat. The projects include increasing access to rearing habitat and implementing habitat restoration activities.

Reclamation District 108 — $9,999,495
Reclamation District 108, on behalf of the Sacramento River Settlement Contractors, will implement seven projects to help restore, maintain, and improve Sacramento River salmon spawning habitat. Project elements include gravel augmentation along the Sacramento River and side channel restoration activities.

River Partners — $9,999,968
River Partners, a non-profit organization, will improve spawning and rearing habitat for salmon at six individual project locations along the Sacramento River. Each project will restore side channels, floodplains and spawning habitats to improve adult spawning and juvenile rearing habitat.

Chico State Enterprises — $9,999,997
Chico State Enterprises, an auxiliary organization of California State University Chico, will restore 47.3 acres of juvenile salmon habitat and 4.3 acres of spawning habitat along the Sacramento River near the Battle Creek confluence.

“On behalf of the Sacramento River Settlement Contractors, we are elated that Reclamation selected us to implement these projects which have been identified in Central Valley Project Improvement Act workplans,” said Thaddeus Bettner, Glenn-Colusa Irrigation District general manager. “This effort will expand on projects we have been doing since 2014 and are vital to Sacramento River salmon spawning and rearing habitat. With more restoration projects completed the last several years, we continue to see larger populations of out-migrating juvenile fish, and this investment by Reclamation will continue to improve on that trend.”

“Reclamation 108, on behalf of the Sacramento River Settlement Contractors, is proud to partner with the Bureau of Reclamation and fellow recipients to continue the important restoration work we have been carrying out on the Sacramento River,” said Lewis Bair, Reclamation 108 general manager. “The work on the upper Sacramento River along with the teamwork advancing floodplain restoration on the lower Sacramento River provide salmon with a promising future.”

Susan Strachan, project manager for the CSU Chico Geographical Information Center and Jane Dolan, executive director of the Sacramento River Forum stated, “We are so thankful for our partnership with Reclamation and our state, local and nonprofit collaborators who make these projects successful. We look forward to implementing more habitat restoration and a robust monitoring program for the benefit of Chinook salmon and steelhead on the Upper Sacramento River.”

“For decades, River Partners has worked with many conservation partners to recover wildlife habitat for the benefit of people and the environment along the Sacramento River,” said River Partners President Julie Rentner. “This investment from Reclamation represents a tremendous opportunity to improve habitat conditions for dwindling Chinook salmon populations and realize the goals of the Central Valley Project Improvement Act for water users, Sacramento Valley communities, endangered freshwater ecosystems, and millions of Californians.”

The projects are being implemented in accordance with the Central Valley Project Improvement Act and the 2019 Biological Opinions for the Coordinated Operation of the Central Valley Project and State Water Project.

Except our Governor will steal this water and send it to Southern Calif and say it's because of Climate Change, instead of building any reservoir to catch run off from rains or snows. At least we're going to have a Bullet Train that's really not good for much but ferry illegals around. And we'll still have the four story tall tunnel to take Delta Water down South.

Someone has to spread the word of the corruption of the Biden family.
Biden is mum, he's not saying it's a lie, because than he'd be lying again.

Joe Biden and his presidential campaign are staying mum after Hunter Biden’s former business associate went public to say he met twice in the past with the former vice president -- despite past statements from Biden on the campaign trail that he had no involvement with or discussions about his family's overseas business ventures.

That associate, Tony Bobulinski, gave an interview on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Tuesday and detailed his alleged meetings with the former vice president—one of which took place on May 2, 2017, according to text messages first reported by Fox News last week.

Those messages indicated that the meeting did, in fact, take place. Bobulinski claimed Tuesday that it was Hunter Biden and Jim Biden, the brother of the former vice president, who had pushed the meeting.

“They were sort of wining and dining me and presenting the strength of the Biden family to get me engaged,” he said.

The Biden campaign declined to comment on the meeting Biden allegedly had with Bobulinski. Biden himself has not yet directly addressed Bobulinski's claims on "Tucker Carlson Tonight."

In 2019, Biden told reporters: "I have never discussed with my son or my brother or anyone else anything having to do with their businesses. Period."

But Bobulinski -- in his interview Tuesday -- described at length how Joe Biden arrived for a Milken conference, partly held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, and how he was introduced by Jim and Hunter Biden to the former vice president.

Speaking with Carlson, Bobulinski also claimed Biden’s denials of knowledge in his son's foreign dealings during the presidential debate was "a blatant lie."

"I didn't request to meet with Joe" Biden, he said. "They requested that I meet with Joe [Biden]. They were putting their entire family legacy on the line. They knew exactly what they were doing.”

He asked why the former vice president would want to meet him.

Tony Bobulinski reveals details of conversation with Joe BidenVideo
“Why on 10:38 on the night of May 2 would Joe Biden take time out of his schedule to take time with me, behind a column so people could not see us, to have a discussion with his family and my family and business at a very high level?" he said.

The meeting on May 2, 2017, would have taken place 11 days before a May 13, 2017, email obtained by Fox News, which included a discussion of “remuneration packages” for six people in a business deal with a Chinese energy firm. The email appeared to identify Hunter Biden as “Chair / Vice Chair depending on agreement with CEFC,” in an apparent reference to now-bankrupt CEFC China Energy Co.

The email includes a note that “Hunter [Biden] has some office expectations he will elaborate.” A proposed equity split references “20” for “H” and “10 held by H for the big guy?” with no further details. Bobulinski has repeatedly said “the big guy” was Joe.

Biden has repeatedly denied being involved with his son’s business dealings.

Bobulinksi, meanwhile, said he was told by CEFC that it was a $10 million deal that would see a $5 million loan to the Biden family and $5 million was their contribution to capitalize SinoHawk Holdings.

The allegations have been denied by Joe Biden and his campaign.

"I have not taken a penny from any foreign source ever in my life," Joe Biden said at a presidential debate last week. "We learned this president ... has a secret bank account with China, does business in China, and in fact is talking about me taking money? I have not taken a single penny from any country whatsoever, ever, ever.”

Separately the Biden campaign has said that it released the former vice president’s tax documents and returns, which do not reflect any involvement with Chinese investments.

“Joe Biden has never even considered being involved in business with his family, nor in any overseas business whatsoever," Biden campaign spokesman Andrew Bates told Fox News. "He has never held stock in any such business arrangements nor has any family member or any other person ever held stock for him.”

Meanwhile, during the interview, Bobulinski said that the Biden family, in 2017, had shrugged off concerns that Joe Biden’s alleged ties to Hunter Biden’s business deals could put his future presidential campaign at risk.

Bobulinski said he raised concerns in 2017 to Jim Biden, about Joe Biden’s alleged ties to the possible joint venture—SinoHawk Holdings, which was a partnership between the CEFC Chairman Ye Jianming and Jim and Hunter Biden.

“I remember saying, ‘How are you guys getting away with this?’ ‘Aren't you concerned?’” he told Carlson.

He claims that Jim Biden chuckled.

"'Plausible Deniability,' he said it directly to me in a cabana at the Peninsula Hotel,” he said.

As for what those deals could mean in a potential Biden administration, Bobulinski said that he believes Joe Biden and his family are “compromised.”

“I just don’t see given the history here and the facts how Joe can’t be influenced in some manner based on the history they have here with CEFC,” he said.

“I think the American people should be demanding that this is investigated,” he said.

Re: Not a single Liberal was censored by fb or Twitter
Posted on: 2020-10-28 15:28:49   By: Anonymous

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey struggled to name a single liberal person or entity who has been censored by their social media platforms on Wednesday during the Senate hearing on Big tech.

Twitter and Facebook have both been accused of bias against conservatives, so Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, asked Zuckerberg and Dorsey to name “one high-profile person or entity from a liberal ideology” who has been censored or had actions taken against them.

“I can get you a list of some more of this but there are certainly many examples that your Democratic colleagues object to when… a fact-checker might label something as false if they disagree with it, or, um,” Zuckerberg said before he was cut off.

“I get that, I just want to be clear, I’m just asking you if you could name for me, one high-profile liberal person or company who you have censored,” Lee said. “I just want one name, one person or one entity.”

Zuckerberg was unable to answer the question and told Lee he needed time to think about it.

“But there are certainly many issues on both sides of the aisle where people think we are making content-moderation decisions that they disagree with,” Zuckerberg said.

Lee then pointed out that most people on the call could easily identify high-profile conservatives who have been censored before asking the Twitter honcho if he had a better answer.

“Well, we can give a more exhaustive list, but again, we don’t have the political ideology of our accounts,” Dorsey said.

“I’m not asking for an exhaustive list, I’m asking for a single example. Just one individual, one entity,” Lee said.

“We’ve taken action on tweets from members of the House for election misinfo,” Dorsey responded.

“Can you identity and example?” Lee asked.

Dorsey could not name the Democratic members of Congress off the top of his head.

“I’ll get those names to you,” he said

How Communist/ Liberals think in the US
Posted on: 2020-10-28 15:07:16   By: Anonymous

Dorsey is the CEO of Twitter, who was subpoenaed.

Sen. Cory Gardner, R-Colo., questioned Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey during a Senate Commerce Committee hearing with tech giants Wednesday, on how the social media company dictates what it will and will not censor on their platform.
Mr. Dorsey, do you believe the Holocaust really happened?” Gardner asked the Twitter CEO.

“Yes,” responded Dorsey.

“So you would agree that someone who says the Holocaust may not have happened is spreading misinformation?” Gardner pressed.
“Yes,” Dorsey answered again.

Gardner voiced his surprise at Dorsey’s answers and cited tweets posted by Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that have suggested the Holocaust never happened.

“It’s strange to me that you’ve flagged the tweets from the president, but haven’t hidden the Ayatollah’s tweets on Holocaust denial and calls to wipe Israel off the map,” Gardner said.

The Colorado senator was referring to previous tweets posted by the president that were flagged by Twitter.

The social media outlet first flagged a tweet by President Trump in May after he claimed that mail-in ballots are fraudulent. Twitter then slapped the tweet with a warning label that advised that the post had "potentially misleading information about voting processes."

Trump has had several tweets regarding coronavirus and mail-in voting flagged by Twitter in the months leading up to election.

Dorsey told the hearing panel Wednesday that Khamenei has had his account flagged on previous occasions along with other world leaders, but said that his tweet claiming the Holocaust did not occur did not fall into their categories of “misinformation.”

We have a policy against misinformation in three categories, which are manipulated media; public health, specifically COVID; and civic integrity, election interference and voter suppression,” Dorsey explained to Gardner. “That is all we have a policy on for misleading information.”

“We do not have a policy or enforcement for any other types of misleading information that you’re mentioning,” he added.

Trump has had at least one tweet removed by the media company for violating Twitter’s policy against glorifying violence, when the president tweeted “when the looting starts, the shooting starts,” following unrest that occured after the death of George Floyd earlier this summer.

Gardner did not mention any of the content in Trump’s tweets that were flagged by Twitter, but condemned their use of censorship as bias.

“With your answers on the ayatollah and others, I just don’t understand how Twitter can claim to want a world of less hate and misinformation while you simultaneously let the kind of content that the ayatollah has tweeted out flourish on the platform, including from other world leaders,” Gardner told Dorsey. “It’s no wonder that Americans are concerned about politically motivated content moderation at Twitter.”

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Google CEO Sundar Pichai also faced tough questioning from senators as the Trump administration have contested the legal shields afforded to social media companies under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.

Trump along with GOP officials believe social media outlets are attributing to bias against and censorship of Republicans.

I hope and media that censored news can be fined BILLIONS.

Don't be a chump, vote for Trump

Prior to 1983, social security was not taxable. Then along came a man named Joe Biden. In 1983 Joe Biden voted for a bill that taxed 50% of social security and it passed. Then in 1993 Biden doubled down with his assault on seniors when he voted "yes" on a bill to raise the percentage taxable from 50% to 85%. Joe Biden has been a one man wrecking ball to the budgets of seniors who too often run out of money before they run out of month - all because of Joe Biden. In the 1993 vote, Biden's vote was the deciding vote in a 50-50 tie that was broken in favor of the tax increase by Dem VP Al Gore. If BIden had voted "no" seniors would have a much higher standard of living. He did not. And now he wants us to vote for him so he can "increase your taxes." With his proposal to ban fracking and end the oil and gas industry, we will all pay $6 gas and $900 per month in home utilities too. Biden is a Snake Oil salesman. Always has been. I appreciate President Trump for caring about our jobs and wages and protecting seniors on social security. This is a no-brainer. Trump!
