Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) Foundation Volunteers Award $1500 in Adult Scholarship to area local Nursing Student

San Andreas, CA...The MTMC Foundation Volunteers have awarded Calaveras resident and Nursing student Hayley Litzenberg $1500 to continue her education towards completing Nursing School. “On behalf of the MTMC Hospital Foundation Volunteers, it was our honor to present Hailey with the 2020 Adult Scholarship on August 13, 2020,” commented Scholarship committee chair and Volunteer Sandy Todd. “We wish to congratulate Hailey. Good luck and God Bless as you continue with your schooling.”

The hospital volunteers have a long history of supporting students who desire to explore a career in healthcare. Scholarship funds are raised through numerous fundraisers held through the year. Events like the Ice Cream Socials, Holiday Craft Bazar, and annual quilt raffle contribute to the ability for the volunteers to assist four students each year.

“Anybody who knows me knows that I have been working toward nursing school for a very long time, remarked Hayley Litzenberg. “I am so excited that the time is finally here! I can’t wait to start this new chapter of my life and I am so grateful for the people who have supported me along the way. Special thanks to the volunteers here at Mark Twain for awarding me with this scholarship. It will be a huge help during this upcoming semester!”

The volunteers have been away from the hospital during the pandemic. They remain in close contact with staff and one another, excitedly awaiting their long overdue return once the pandemic has ended.
