San Andreas, CA...If you were looking for many of the "Powers That Be" yesterday afternoon one good place to find them was Classroom 3 at Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital. It was another of the ongoing Economic Development meetings that have been spearheaded by the Calaveras Chamber of Commerce. Attending and participating were representatives from the Calaveras Board of Supervisors, Calaveras County Community Development Agency, Angels Camp City Council, Calaveras Visitors & Convention Bureau, Calaveras Business Council, Agricultural Groups, Community Groups & more...
 
They are working towards the Economic Development Summit on July 11-12. It will be two days filed with workshops, discussion groups and even a motivational speaker or two.
This group has been meeting almost weekly to craft good strategies for the county. This really is a multi-partisan group. As we get closer to the date will provide more details.
The Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that a collaborative effort by a newly formed Economic Development Committee in the county will be hosting an Economic Development Summit on Friday, July 11th and Saturday, July 12th in Angels Camp......
Following the Chamber's presentation to the Board of Supervisors about the need for a diversified economy for Calaveras County, representatives from all over the county have come together to form a committee to pursue this agenda.
The summit will feature speakers that have experience with specific Economic Development Strategies and success stories. There will be tracks and individual sessions focusing on Retail, Agriculture, Industry, Infrastructure, Tourism, Emerging Technologies and much more.
Mark your calendars and plan to attend this summit which will take place at Bret Harte High School. The Summit will take place on Friday, July 11th from 7:30 to 5:00 pm and will follow with a half day program on Saturday, July 12th.
