With all due respect, more will die from COVID than marijuana. LE's time would be better spent enforcing the wearing of masks than playing this never ending Whack a Mole game with underground growers. What a shame we didn't legalize and would now have the tax revenue instead of spending money we don't have on knocking down illegal grows.

^Think about this. Its only a misdamenor in most cases. Why not do it? And especially here in Calaveras when the men are men and the cops are nervous.

Real professionals go legal or don't get caught. These guys are complete idiots. From the air these operations are saying "Bust Me" in 100 foot tall letters. No sympathy for these fools at all.

In their minds, aircraft flying over would think “tomatoes” are growing in those four hot houses. After all, lots of money in heirloom tomatoes. Nice construction job framing the hot houses though. Should get a real job!

Does not anyone wonder why there are no busts in the counties surrounding us? Seems to me that Calaveras is just a distraction to massive illegal grows in the surrounding counties. Most likely because of some very corrupt higher up people who are profiting from it. They lose a little but gain much.

And we can also help out our sheriff by encouraging others to observe the guidelines i.e., wearing masks and others. This way the sheriff is freed up to do what he's supposed to do-enforce all laws and go out and bust all these illegal people whether they're growers or not! The law is the law!

So are you gonna find this "rat" and do something about it? You'll be in more trouble than the growers! That ideology "Snitches get Stitches" is nothing but a big bluff! It's just words and we need more folks who have courage to report anything suspicious or illegal activities in their neighborhoods. It's part of their rights as local citizens as well as citizens of the U.S.! thank you

I'm old enough to know better and old enough to put you across my knee. Your parents probably never spanked you? I also see your statement about kids as a threat. Whether I have kids or not is none of your business and be careful what you say on these media sites. They (LE etc.) can always track you down if you do too many threats towards people-not a good idea!

This is all about trying to impress Trump's "justice" dept. and reap the rewards of being loyalists. Why do they not address real crimes that effect all residents. Like the dealing with the homeless crazies, tweekers that steal anything they can get their hands on or the people that travel 25 miles over the speed limit? No they won't do any of those things, they are too busy with the grows Check out the Sheriff's log most likely the most common phrase will be "no report taken"

I know plenty of people that smoke pot that aren't homeless.
Smoking pot is least of the things a homeless person does that you should be worrying about.
