Junior Livestock Auction Raises $427,000 ~By Hanna Heath and John Hamilton Updated with 37 Minutes of Video
Frogtown, CA.... After months of hard work and feeding times 4H and FFA students auctioned off their animals to local families and businesses. The 2008 Junior Livestock Auction Featured Prize Winning Beef, Lambs, Hogs, Rabbits, Chickens, Turkeys and Goats that raised $427,000. Auctioneers were Mark Fischer, Steve Haglund, Wayne Whittemore and Seth Seever.....

Marissa Menzes, of Angels Camp of the Angelus Ranus 4-H, won Supreme Champion for her lamb that weighed 137lbs.
Brett Burton-Van Lieshout of Valley Springs belonging to the Calaveras FFA, won Supreme Champion for his Market Goat weighing in at 91lbs.
Elaine Jordan of Altaville, a member of the Angelus Ranus 4-H took Supreme Champion award for her pair of meat birds.
Taylor Westberg of Copperopolis from the Copper Hills 4-H took the Supreme Championship Award for Market Beef weighing in at 1275 lbs.
Clinton Kafka of Avery, belonging to the Murphys 4-H, took the Supreme Championship Award for his rabbit.
Grant Herrick of Copperopolis of the Angelus Ranus 4-H took the Supreme Championship Award for his Market Swine.
Trenton Bumpus of San Andreas, a member of the Moke Hill 4-H took the Supreme Championship for his Market Turkey weighing 32 lbs.
The supreme champion steer weighing in at 1225 pounds sold for $7.50 per pound to Calaveras Telephone. The reserve supreme champion weighing in over 1100 pound sold for $6.75 per pound.
