Major Injuries for Valley Springs Woman & Major Injuries & Felony DUI for Rio Linda Man in Corvette Collision

Valley Springs, CA...On June 23, 2020 at approximately 2150 hours, Brandon D. Maggard was driving his Chevrolet Corvette on westbound SR-26, east of Quail Oaks Road. As Mr. Maggard was negotiating a curve in the roadway for westbound traffic, he allowed his vehicle to travel into the eastbound lane, where he lost control of the Chevrolet.

The Chevrolet traveled back into the westbound lane out of control, where it continued off of the north roadway, onto the north shoulder of SR-26, where it overturned in a grass field. As the Chevrolet was overturning both the driver and passenger were ejected out of the vehicle, before it came to rest on its roof.

Subsequently Mr. Maggard was arrested for felony DUI. Both parties sustained major injuries and were life flighted from the scene.

Alcohol appears to be a contributing factor in this traffic collision.

Well, that's a date gone bad. Hope both parties will recover and the driver has consequences.

Did CHP report this to Cal Trans to post more signs, warning lights and reflectors? This is a dangerous State Highway that needs safety updating as well as hosting dui check points and/or signs that read buzz driving is drunk driving and not to risk it

Yeah that's all we need is to try to read a frickin sign on the frickin hwy while frickin speeding, after frickin drinking in one of our hundreds of frickin wine tasting establishments, and probably hit the frickin sign because they're fricking squinting at it because their vision is frickin blurry, because they're fricking drunk.

Alcohol, speed and American sports are a recipe for disaster. No independent suspension and one little mistake is all it takes. Glad some of the newer American muscle cars aren’t quite as much trash!

Who is the person driving a white corvette erratically every day on Highway 49 in Calaveras and Amador? Exhibition of speed, dangerous passing, burning out from stops. This person has a death wish and will most likely take some innocent person with them.

Let us help people stay out of trouble and live not watch people and say told you so. Post signs and road safety gear with more dui check points like the rich Cities do that use our gas tax $. We need safety upgrades here in this county.

He was not arrested! He was life flighted just like the girl. We were the first family on the scene. This information is WRONG!
