It's all too early. It's going to be a bad season, I can feel it. Another monster yet to be in our region but I hope not.

It’s bad every year. Has always been and will always be. Those who have lived in the community long enough understand every summer is the same

You don't know out county history, quit pretending you are a local

That's not entirely true, it has been bad since the Old Gulch Fire. (Flatlanders buying property and building up on that road from Calaveritas to Mountain Ranch.) Before that people with acreage, ranchers and public lands tried to keep it thinned by grazing, logging and cutting firewood. Public lands were managed. Seems all the new people just sit around and do nothing, except watching the fire fuel grow. Normally right around Frog Jump weekend (3rd weekend in May) all the grass is brown and the heat is on.

And normally May 1st fire season is called and burn permits are suspended. All the late rains kept it green longer and delayed the stop of yearly burning this year.

A local throwing out a lit cig
Posted on: 2020-06-24 06:00:53   By: Anonymous

No doubt caused by a local who threw his cigarette out the window instead of putting it in his beer can then throwing it out the window. All one needs to do is look along the side of any of our roadways and see all the beer cans, bottles that our homeboys toss. Same with the cigs, they're everywhere.

You're the drunk smoker, you go pickem up loser, then you can cash the cans in and buy that $4.00 fishing pole you've dreamed about at Wally World.
      Frickin Lose

Then leave. You stupid laws on top of laws. Taxes on taxes. Fire season started when punks with daddy money and a Home Depot lawnmower built a house wherever *bleep* they wanted. Had no clue of maybe doing preventative maintenance.

So, how about along with all of your great observations above anybody want to talk about over the years Calfire has eliminated engines and a dozer? That’s just from this county no to mention all around the state!
