CDC Releases Recommendations Declaring Communities of Faith Essential

Atlanta, GA...Across America, states and localities are experiencing different stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many state and local officials have determined to begin moving gradually and strategically toward reopening their regions. Today, CDC published guidance to help prevent exposures to COVID-19 in facilities used by communities of faith and to keep their staff and attendees as healthy as possible as they exercise their faith.

Gathering together for worship is at the heart of many faith traditions. Because there are several published reports of COVID-19 outbreaks sparked by large gatherings, both non-religious and religious in nature, the recommendations released today will help guide faith communities while respecting their fundamental right to gather for worship.

Implementation should be guided by what is feasible, practical, and consistent with the needs and religious beliefs of each community. Decisions and strategies on reopening are implemented at the state, tribal, local, and territorial levels based on their phased reopening plan. Each locale is different, and individual jurisdictions have the authority and local public health data and information needed to protect their communities without discrimination against religion. CDC is continuing to work with state, tribal, local, and territorial leaders to provide technical assistance and resources that can help support decisions to protect health and prevent the spread of COVID-19 consistent with the free exercise rights of people of faith.

It sure seems appropriate that houses of worship are to become breeding grounds for coronavirus.

Of course - churches want their donation revenue, period. California will allow churches to open when appropriate and SAFE!!!!

So churches are not essential but liquor stores and abortion clinics are? These churches need to open now and practice precautions for the virus.

Can you do anything other than totally parrot back Trump's statement. It's about the ability to socially distance with a given activity not your moral compass. Naturally, Trump has to politicize and try to stir up the minions.

So you don't see a problem that bars and abortion clinics stay open while churches stay closed. You must have your head so far up your ass that your brain has turned to sh*t.

What is your point? There are no bars open! Just as there are no churches open, at the moment.

Are you trying to make an idiot of yourself? You're doing a good job of it.

Bars? The only bars that should be open for you are the ones in the county jail which you should be behind until you are sober enough to think straight. As for women’s health care clinics, they are absolutely essential. If they were open when you were in utero, then maybe they could have performed a procedure that would have prevented us from enduring your banality.

The point is you are really confused. Bars and wineries are not open in this state, only restaurants which might serve alcohol. An abortion can be performed because the medical procedure can be done with safe distancing guidelines. We're not having a moral discussion and to the right or wrong of an abortion (which is already legal in CA). I can sense it's difficult for you but please do try to stay on topic.

Say Amen and pass the basket. Fill it with cash and give it to the preacher. And hope he doesn't abuse the altar boy. Just give them the cash and don't ask any quesstions. Houses of worship are no different than a pizza parlor. Praise Jesus and start throwing the bucks towards the altar. Amen brothers and sisters.

Oh the pine tree won't quote what a Democrats president said.

As a matter of fact, it was Democrat President Lyndon Baines Johnson who stated, “I’ll have those ni66ers voting Democratic for the next 200 years” as he confided with two like-minded governors on Air Force One regarding his underlying intentions for the “Great Society” programs

This was during the civil right movement where Democrats were against blacks attending schools with white kids. Where Democrats had water fountains for white only. Where black folks couldn't eat in a white restaurant. Where a black man could give his life for his country, but wouldn't get any medal for heroic deeds. Lbj and the Democrats plan was to get blacks on welfare, so it made blacks dependent on the government. The Dems knew Republicans want people dependent on themselves, and even though Dems hated blacks, the Dems made it look like to the black community, that the Republicans were going to take away their welfare.
This is how the leaders of the Klu Klux Klan ( all 3 chapters) fooled the black community to think Democrats were for them.

Please feel free to look it up, especially the Rise of the Democratic club and founder of the Klu Klux Klan, and how the Democrats brought it back to power three separate times.
This is why the Dems are the most corrupted party in America. Our president maybe the rudest who has ever served, but he has done a lot of good. And the Dems have done nothing since even before the 2016 election to get rid of him, and the media is in it with them.

Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, and to all of our brothers and sisters who have served, thank you, thank you each and everyone of you. Many came home physically together, many wounded, mentally and physically, and many gave it their all.
Thank you for what you did, and to give me and everyone else, the right of free speech, and all of us our rights.

PS Thank you Republicans for voting to give all of us, no matter our color of skin, our civil rights, and to be created equal.
( Pls feel free to look up Dems voting against civil rights, disgusting)

The only thing we are in agreement with here is that the focus and direction of both parties have very much changed over the decades. You cannot compare your great grandpa's Dems with today's; same goes for the GOP. History is not static.

It's not my great Grandpa, or my grandfather, or my dad. I'm in my 60's and it's alive and well now. Democrats and liberals are always pointing the finger at everyone else, when they are just as guilty as they have always been period

Democrats can do no wrong but they can sure point the finger at the Republicans. Take a look at Sleepy Joe Biden. He says to the Black community, "Come on man, if you don't vote for me then you ain't black." That is such a racist comment that he had to apologize which means nothing since if he didn't mean it then he would have not said it. If President Trump said something like that then the Democrats would be all over his ass.

Again, the wineries are not open per current Stage 2 CA policy. Only restaurants using safe distancing and other sanitary guidelines. Any one besides this clown who want to see for themselves what is open and not, please just go onto the Murphys Business Association website.

Headline's a little misleading. The CDC didn't declare houses of worship essential, that was Trump. The CDC is merely offering safe practice guidelines should states choose to go forward with opening them. Once again, Trump says the governors are in charge of opening their states as they see fit but simultaneously threatens them (though he has no power to do so). Simply pandering to what he sees as his voters.

That's because Governors such as Newsom have abused their power and he must be overridden. He keeps businesses closed and then wants the federal government to bail California out of a devastating economy.

As if the pandemic wasn't enough, rats are coming out of hiding in cities in the absence of human traffic and the cicadas are about to emerge in the millions after their 17-year stint underground. A plague, the equivalent of locusts and more, it's downright biblical.

Nope not biblical. Just too many people and natural selection. We should have left everything alone. Warned people about the virus/flu/pandemic and let them make their own choices to shelter at home or just carry on.

As it is now the house cleaning isn't done. Come Fall nothing should be done and the cleaning finished.

So many pastors told their cult that God will protect you. Some have got the virus and died. What moron believes faith protects you? faith is hated by organized religions especially the evangelical and fundamentalist. They are more cultish, a leader who must be obeyed.

It is sad how people cannot have a spiritual experience anywhere, anytime, church is not necessary, unless you wish to be in a cult, and lose self , relinquish your power.
Religions lead away from spirituality, a connection with everything.

God is not "up there" God is in you and all in life, including the earth.

There are also certain bars in this county where folks will go right out front to smoke cigarettes (actually should be 25 feet away from building) and that's not the only thing that they smoke! I think our LE folks should keep a close eye on them.
