Local COVID-19 Testing Opening Soon at Frogtown for Calaveras & Tuolumne Counties

Angels Camp, CA...As part of efforts to expand COVID-19 testing throughout the State, a testing site serving people from Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties to be open effective Friday, May 29. The testing site will open at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds located just outside historic downtown Angels Camp. OptumServe, a health services partner with the State of California, will coordinate services with the public health officials from both counties. “We are very pleased to have this expanded access to testing available to our residents. Increased access to testing will allow our community to identify cases quickly and stay in containment.” said Dr. Liza Ortiz, Interim Tuolumne County Health Officer.

“Our ability to keep our communities safe depends on the public-private partnerships we build to meet our testing goals and assure our ability to respond if there is a surge in COVID-19 cases,” said Dr. Dean Kelaita, Calaveras County Health Officer.

Appointments are available on weekdays Monday-Friday, and can be made by going to www.lhi.care/covidtesting. The testing site will be open from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M and will serve up to 102 individuals per day. For people without internet access, call (888) 634-1123. If individuals have health insurance, their insurance provider will be billed. A referral by a doctor is not needed and anyone can be tested, even if they do not have symptoms. Copays will not be collected at the site. Individuals who do not have insurance can be tested at no-cost.

In Franklin D Roosevelt’s famous 1941 Four Freedoms speech, he detailed that, yes, Americans are owed a right to freedom of speech and expression and to worship whom they please – but he also mentioned the freedom from fear. This was in the context of the US joining forces with Britain in the second world war; Roosevelt was telling Americans that this was a fight for freedom. As America finds itself at war with a deadly pandemic, that’s a message worth considering.

So why would I need a test if I have been staying in place for over 2 months and have no symptoms? The test would be negative so it would be a waste of time and money.

One trip to the market or post office could jeopardize your two month shelter-in-place status.

Do you actually believe by going to the post office or Big Trees Market you will contract the virus? You are about as stupid as these Democrats that post comments on this website. Why don't you just live in a bubble for the rest of your life!

I actually go to Save Mart which is bigger than BT and more people. However, I still wear the mask to be on the safe side until this is all over with! I also did all my shopping in the first part of this week and picked up my medication for the next 3 months. So I'm set and avoiding the crowds too this weekend-just me, myself, and I at the homefront and cook ribs on the briquette fire tomorrow!

You could catch the virus because the dumbacrats and liberals from the diseased infested Bay Area keep coming up here. Example is the two Democrats who stole a truck and were busted while fishing, the guy was from that chithole, San Jose

Woodstock Occurred in the Middle of a Pandemic
Posted on: 2020-05-22 16:36:49   By: Anonymous

"Which raises the question: why was this different? We will be trying to figure this one out for decades.

Was the difference that we have mass media invading our lives with endless notifications blowing up in our pockets? Was there some change in philosophy such that we now think politics is responsible for all existing aspects of life? Was there a political element here in that the media blew this wildly out of proportion as revenge against Trump and his deplorables? Or did our excessive adoration of predictive modelling get out of control to the point that we let a physicist with ridiculous models frighten the world’s governments into violating the human rights of billions of people?

Maybe all of these were factors. Or maybe there is something darker and nefarious at work, as the conspiracy theorists would have it.

Regardless, they all have some explaining to do. "

    Different contagion.
Tough to compare things from the past when a new virus hits.
So, try explaining to the 96,000+ families of the dead your theory on this being a media driven hoax.
The doctors were right in explaining how serious things would be controlling the outbreak. Social distancing was the right call.
Thank you to Gov Newsom helping to keep California's numbers as low as they are.
