Frogtown, CA...The Class of 2008 Painted Frogs of Calaveras County were unveiled to a packed house at the Frogeteria.. A special Chamber Welcoming Reception was held Friday Night to honor the amphibians, their sponsors and artists. This year's crop is spectacular and features the work of some great local artists. This was a celebration of Frogs, Painted Frogs and the Jumping Frog Jubilee. One piece even featured a stunning glass & pottery mosaic covering the Frog Sponsored By Iwata Eye Care. When you are at the fair this year make sure to check out the Great Frogs.....

At this great event, 9 of the 10 Painted Frogs of the Painted Frogs of Calaveras 2008 will be unveiled for the first time and welcomed into the County.

The Fair also talked about some of this year's Fair Highlights and the special things we can look forward to.

Following this special event, the Painted Frogs will be on display at the Fair in the Shade Garden.

Each of the Sponsors were on hand to show off their Frogs and introduced the lucky charities that will benefit from the sale of the frogs at the Gala Auction on October 25th. Some of those lucky charities include the Calaveras Humane Society, Arnold Rotary, Buttercup Farms, The Michelson Parents Association, Bret Harte Angels & New Sports Complex and more.

Chamber Director Diane Gray has done a great job with this project over the years. These Frogs have become iconic symbols of Calaveras County. They can be seen adorning the fronts of many businesses & homes in the area.

Thanks Diane!
