If infections and deaths continue at the rate we've seen the last three weeks you can simply multiply these numbers by ten (10×) to see what infections and deaths will be in 8 or 9 days. The results 24-27 days out are frightening.

In Late February, Nancy Pelosi Encouraged Large Groups to Congregate in Chinatown

Yet blamed Trump’s early “denial” for spread of coronavirus.

A video clip from late February shows Nancy Pelosi encouraging large groups of people to congregate in San Francisco’s Chinatown before she would later go on to blame President Trump’s early “denial” for the spread of coronavirus.

The footage, which was taken on February 24th, is introduced by a reporter noting how Pelosi wanted residents to understand how it’s “perfectly safe to be here” in Chinatown.

“We do want to say to people, come to Chinatown, here we are…come join us,” said Pelosi.

The reporter then explains how the stunt was a response to San Francisco’s Chinatown experiencing a drop in business since the outbreak of coronavirus in Wuhan, China.

San Francisco has since recorded 340 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 5 people have died.

The video is particularly eye opening since yesterday on CNN, Pelosi blamed President Trump’s “denial at the beginning” for the spread of coronavirus throughout the United States.

The video underscores how many officials flouted the very social distancing measures they now amplify because at the time stopping bigotry towards Chinese people was seen as being of greater importance than preventing the spread of coronavirus.

As we previously highlighted, health officials in New York gave identical advice, urging residents to gather in crowds to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year.

“Today our city is celebrating the #LunarNewYear parade in Chinatown, a beautiful cultural tradition with a rich history in our city,” wrote New York City Health Commissioner Oxiris Barbot. “I want to remind everyone to enjoy the parade and not change any plans due to misinformation spreading about #coronavirus.”

Her message was echoed by Mark D. Levine, Chair of New York City Council health committee, who lauded how “huge crowds gathering in NYC’s Chinatown” was a “powerful show of defiance of #coronavirus scare,” tweeting four images of large groups of people gathered to celebrate the occasion.
"In powerful show of defiance of #coronavirus scare, huge crowds gathering in NYC's Chinatown for ceremony ahead of annual #LunarNewYear parade. Chants of "be strong Wuhan!"
If you are staying away, you are missing out!""

Mayor Bill de Blasio also urged New Yorkers to “get out on the town despite coronavirus” and visit the cinema as late as March 2nd.

As we highlight in the video below, back in February, leftist officials in Italy were also urging citizens to go outside and hug Chinese people in order to fight racism.

Florida Sheriff to Arrest Rodney Howard Browne, Megachurch Pastor Who Flouted Virus Rules

At services on March 15, Howard-Browne encouraged his parishioners to shake hands to show they weren’t afraid of contracting the coronavirus and vowed his church “will never close.”

“This has to be the safest place,” said Howard-Browne, who was in a group of evangelical leaders who laid hands on Donald Trump in a White House ceremony in 2017.
The sheriff disagreed, saying the pastor was putting people’s health at risk.

“I believe there's nothing more important than faith during a time like this,” Chronister said. “And as a sheriff's office we would never impede someone’s ability to lean on their religious beliefs as a means of comfort. But practicing those beliefs has to be done safely.”

He said the sheriff’s office spoke to attorneys for the church twice to explain they were violating government orders. He said officers tried to meet in person with Howard-Browne but he refused.

Chronister said the pastor’s stance was particularly bewildering because he could have just live-streamed the service to his 4,000 members. Instead, he encouraged everyone to come in person and even provided bus service.

State Attorney Andrew Warren said the arrest warrant should serve as a warning to others who refuse to follow the distancing rules.

“Where people are refusing to obey law enforcement in this regard you risk being arrested and prosecuted,” he said.

President Donald Trump was fully aware that on Jan. 21, the coronavirus had hit the United States, the land he’s been elected (by Russian oligarchs) to govern. He may have also known of the disease’s devastation as early as December but on Jan. 21, a 30-year-old Washington state man who had visited Wuhan, China had become sick.

On Feb. 28, Trump was speaking to a group of people who love him in Charleston, S.C. where he claimed the coronavirus was merely a Democratic hoax that his rivals were politicizing because they hate him.

“Now the Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus,” Trump said. “They have no clue, they can’t even count their votes in Iowa,” he said after a Democratic primary took a while to claim a winner, FOX News reports.

“This is their new hoax,” Trump continued, noting that the Democratic Party’s “single talking point” was attacking the White House’s response to the coronavirus.

Now, news sites are reporting that on Feb. 7, with the coronavirus working its way around the United States, the White House administration sent some 17.8 tons of medical supplies, which included masks, respirators and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to China.

Literally three weeks after the president knew that the first case of the coronavirus had been confirmed in the U.S., he sent 17. 8 tons of equipment, which is equivalent to a black measurement of “50 ‘leven hundred,” to China.

In a press release from the State Department dated Feb. 7, the agency announced it was prepared to spend up to $100 million to assist China as the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths continued to rise there. The day the press release went out, Trump tweeted that he spoke with China’s President Xi Jinping and that China would be “successful especially as the weather starts to warm & the virus hopefully becomes weaker and then gone.”

At the time, sending supplies overseas may have seemed like the right thing to do. But it’s worth noting that this release of vital medical supplies came two days after several senators, including Connecticut Democrat Chris Murphy, offered to allocate congressional emergency funding for preventative health measures and research to ward off the virus in the United States—and President Donald Trump turned it down.

“Local health systems need supplies, training, screening staff, etc…” tweeted Murphy, “and they need it now.”

Missouri man planned to bomb hospital during pandemic to get attention for white supremacist views

A Missouri man who was killed last week was planning to set off a bomb at a hospital to further his radical white supremacist ideology, federal authorities said Monday.
Timothy Wilson, 36, died March 24 when the FBI sought to arrest him after a six-month investigation.

A summary of the case in an FBI advisory sent to law enforcement Monday said he met with an undercover FBI employee and talked about setting off a vehicle bomb at a hospital because of "the increased impact given the media attention on the health sector" due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Agents said Wilson bought several bag of fertilizer that can be used as a bomb component and kept them in a storage unit. They said Wilson and the undercover operative visited the hospital and discussed attack planning.

The bulletin said he came under investigation last September, when the FBI arrested a Ft. Riley, Kansas, solider, Jarrett William Smith. Agents said Smith told others how to make bombs and talked about wanting to carry out attacks in the U.S. They said he and Wilson talked about how to make explosive devices "to further their racially motivated violent extremist ideology."

Smith pleaded guilty in February to distributing bomb making instructions and will be sentenced in May.
The FBI said Wilson's plot reflects a current trend among white supremacists "seeking to maximize their audience and the dissemination of their message."

California COVID-19 hospitalizations double in four days:

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Reuters) - California Governor Gavin Newsom said on Monday that the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations in the state had nearly doubled over the past four days and the number of ICU patients tripled during that time.

By Monday, 1,421 California patients had been hospitalized with COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, up from 746 four days ago, Newsom said. The number of patients requiring intensive care beds rose to 597 from 200, he said. Altogether, 5,763 people have tested positive for the disease in the state, he said.

The rapid increase in the need for hospital and ICU care led Newsom to set up a website to connect retired doctors and nurses, as well as students, to hospitals and clinics that need them. The state will help retirees activate their licenses and students obtain licensing.

A doctor in New York has left a heartbreaking goodbye message to her children in case she dies of coronavirus in the fight against the disease.

Dr Cornelia Griggs is working on the front lines of the coronavirus epidemic in New York City, which has become the epicentre of the outbreak in the US.

In an emotional post on her Twitter page, Dr Griggs left a message for her children in case she falls victim to the virus while working during the pandemic.

"My babies are too young to read this now. And they'd barely recognise me in my gear. But if they lose me to Covid I want them to know Mommy tried really hard to do her job. #GetMePPE #NYC," she wrote.

New York City has reported its first death of a child to COVID-19, one of hundreds new state fatalities overnight that brought the grim toll to 1,218 by Monday, officials said.

The age of the minor wasn’t released, but the victim did have an underlying condition. The sobering news comes as the city’s health commissioner warns the upcoming month could be even deadlier than this one — and Gov. Andrew Cuomo races to shore up defenses before the worst of the storm.

“If there was ever a moment for unity, this is the moment. This virus doesn’t discriminate. It attacks everyone, and it attacks everywhere,” Cuomo said at his daily briefing Monday.

“This virus has been ahead of us from Day 1. I’m tired of playing catch-up with this virus. You never win when you’re playing catch-up. If you are not prepared for the apex, for the high point, you are missing the point of the operation. It is a fundamental blunder to only prepare for today.”

General Electric factory workers walked off the job on Monday in an act of solidarity to demand the company use its factories to produce ventilators for use in the fight against the coronavirus.

As the peak of coronavirus infections and deaths is still nearly two weeks away, GE workers have demanded the company convert its jet engine factories to begin producing ventilators.
Vice News reported that workers at the company's

Massachusetts aviation facility stood six feet apart and held a silent protest. Union members at the Boston headquarters marched six feet apart and said the company should retrofit its spaces to fight the pandemic.

The protests come days after GE announced it would lay off 10 per cent of its domestic aviation workforce, resulting in job losses for nearly 2,600 workers. In addition to the layoff, the company also said it would temporarily lay off half of its maintenance workers in hopes it would save the company "$50m to $1bn."

GE, which fulfils defence contracts for the US government, would be among the companies set to receive a federal financial bailout from the multi-trillion dollar coronavirus stimulus package.

The company's healthcare division already manufactures ventilators and is one of the nation's largest providers of the machines. Members of the Industrial Division of Communication Workers of America believe other factories under the GM umbrella could be converted to produce the devices.

"If GE trusts us to build, maintain and test engines which go on a variety of aircraft where millions of lives are at take, why wouldn't they trust us to build ventilators?" IUE-CWA Local 860004 President Jake Aguanaga said during a press conference.

The push by the workers to build ventilators comes at a time when the life-saving machines are in short supply. President Donald Trump recently enacted the Defense Production Act to compel General Motors to redirect part of their manufacturing capacity to produce ventilators for beleaguered medical staff overwhelmed by the spread of the coronavirus.

"Most Americans are not aware that the best ventilators are already made by General Electric within the company's healthcare division," Mr Shelton said. "Our country depends on these highly skilled workers and not they're wondering why they are facing layoffs instead of having the opportunity to use their unbelievable skills to help save lives."

The Trump administration has ruled that gun shops are considered “essential” businesses that should remain open as other businesses are closed to try to stop the spread of coronavirus. Gun control groups are balking, calling it a policy that puts profits over public health after intense lobbying by the firearms industry.

In the past several weeks, various states and municipalities have offered different interpretations of whether gun stores should be allowed to remain open as Americans stay at home to avoid spreading the virus. In Los Angeles, for example, County Sheriff Alex Villanueva has twice ordered gun shops in his territory to close, leading to legal challenges from gun rights advocates.

After days of lobbying by the National Rifle Association, the National Shooting Sports Foundation and other gun groups, the Department of Homeland Security this past weekend issued an advisory declaring that firearms dealers should be considered essential services — just like grocery stores, pharmacies and hospitals — and allowed to remain open.
