Ok, now this just looks like they are arbitrarily punishing small businesses. We are smart enough to keep our social distancing in place without punishing us because we want bait.

Asymptomatic carriers of the disease are some of the most contagious. So you want to "go wherever you want whenever you want?" Tell that to all of the people who did the same, many of whom are in the hospital right now, or continuing to infect. Get a grip - or better yet; get better data and be responsible.

Easy for them to bankrupt small businesses. They will still get their government paychecks. Sometimes they forget where ALL the tax money originally comes from.

Enforce emergency orders
Posted on: 2020-03-27 20:39:30   By: Anonymous

Perhaps it is time to consider having highway check points on major highways leading to this county to detect people who have sickness or temperatures, and turn them back or direct them to quarantine.

It is being done elsewhere. Checkpoints are used to prevent drunk driving, to close roads during wildfire, so it is not unheard of. And we are getting a lot of people coming into the county just for a fun day or weekend.

The state has issued a stay at home order, right? This does not apply to those with necessary services. Right now, many people are coming tho the county for recreational, party, tourist reasons. That is contrary to the state pandemic emergency order. If people don’t care if they might be bringing covin19 to Calaveras, maybe they should be turned around. This wouldn’t be any more different than sobriety check points conducted to prevent drunk driving injury and death..

Beyond this being contagious it’s airborne, six feet won’t save you. But you’ll be clogging up hospitals before your six feet underneath all of us who listen.

I say go for it. It’s your risk. Just know that if you show symptoms and have the virus, if you cough on anyone or anything deliberately, you will be sentenced to acts of tyranny. Some dude just got charged with domestic terrorism for knowingly coughing on random people when he had known the disease was in his system.

This Stay at Home was overdue. It should have been issued when the Governor issued his order. Get used to it. I think we will need to Stay At home for 8 more weeks at least as the COVID-19 epidemic rolls through our country.
If we don't Shelter in Place then we will have full hospitals and more deaths.
Stay at home and abide by the order.

I feel safe knowing that all the Calaveras residents are required to stay in their homes while I remain free to do as I please and shop in your markets for all the essentials to store in my cabin for my next trip up here in the coming weeks

Stay at home order
Posted on: 2020-03-28 11:07:53   By: Anonymous

It is state law, people are supposed to stay at home. The reason for that is to stop the spread of covin-19. The same order applies from our county health department.
So why are people from out of county being allowed to come into Calaveras or Tuolumne Counties. Some states are stopping incoming travel. Some cities are considering it. Other local cities are giving tickets and fines of a thousand dollars for violations.

Hey, the county could make some money for local services, and reduce our chances of getting the pandemic. Have a check station on each highway, and if the people aren’t residents or necessary services, give them a choice. They can turn around and go back or get a ticket.
