Cal Fire Announces 2008 Summer Preparedness for Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties
San Andreas, CA...On Monday, May 12, 2008, at 8 a.m. The Tuolumne Calaveras Unit of CAL FIRE announces the opening of summer preparedness within the state responsibility areas of Tuolumne County, Calaveras County, Eastern Stanislaus County and Eastern San Joaquin County. The declaration of summer preparedness allows CAL FIRE to staff fire stations and equipment on a 24-hour basis to help protect California’s wild lands......
CAL FIRE Tuolumne -Calaveras Unit Chief Mike Noonan wishes to extend, on behalf of all the employees of CAL FIRE, his appreciation to those residents of Tuolumne County, Calaveras County, Eastern Stanislaus and Eastern San Joaquin County who put forth an effort towards creating their defensible space.
Each year we see disasters that could have been prevented. We at CAL FIRE cannot stress enough that now is the time for all California residents to take action. Maintain defensible space around your homes, become involved in your local Fire Safe Council, and be extra careful when recreating in our wildlands this summer.
