Calaveras Sheriff's Dept Visits The Well-Armed Woman Mother Lode Chapter

Valley Springs, CA...On February 9, 2020, Sheriff DiBasilio, Sergeant Stark and Resident Deputy Elam attended the “Well Armed Woman” (Mother Lode Chapter) meeting at the La Contenta Conference Room. The presentation was interactive with the panel taking several questions from the membership. The topics of discussion covered crime statistics, ways to increase personal safety, Concealed Weapons Permits, department staffing, the introduction of Resident Deputy Elam and other community orientated policing activities in the county.

With several new programs (SmartWater, Rural Crimes Unit, Resident Deputy Revitalization, etc.) The Sheriff’s Office would like to reach out to other community organizations interested in hosting an interactive meeting. If interested, please contact Sergeant Greg Stark at 209-754-6783.

Kudos to this program! It's really nice to know that our LE people are educating women in our county about CCW permits and defending themselves. As it's said "Lets all take a big bite out of crime!" Thank you, Steve Smith

Don't listen to the pathetic alleged men on this site ladies. Its obvious that they're the Cantankerous Losers of our county who always whine and cry about everyone and everything like the little sissies they are. Get your CCW permits, and remember, practice practice practice.

    What Could Go Wrong?

So a bunch of George Zimmermans wannabe cops driving around with weapons, what could go wrong?

So a Travon Martin manslaughter is just a matter of time.

All it takes is a closet racist with a gun allowed to play cop , and manslaughter happens, just a matter of time.

    It can happen here.

Would you please step back into your county of San Joaquin/Stockton. Clean up your own county first.

Well said. So sick of the wingnut mouth breathers and social justice warriors on both sides. Get some goddamn perspective and education, and quit being flag waving sycophants.

What's a wingnut mouth breather? And what's the matter with a person getting a permit to carry? If they pass the background check, the testing, then good for them. That's a legal gun owner. What I don't like is the convicted felons who are caught with a firearm, and are given minimum bail.

Well over 2000 CCW permits in Calavetas County as of 2019 FYI. Everyone goes through back ground checks and certified training. I think it's nice to know it's not just criminals who carry. Some folks actually care enough to get permits, some people carry because they carry large sums of money, others because of their work, others personal protection.
In Los Angeles there's less then 200 permits, the rest of those people who carrying do so illegally.
Like I said, it's nice to know some citizens of this county care enough, and I do not ever recall a CCW permit holder commiting a crime with his weapon.

Ill always carry on and off duty

I think that if I was going to get CC permit I would not put my picture on the web. Now the local criminals know you own firearms and that you are not really proficient in the use of them. Sounds like a good way to get yourselves robbed.

Practice, ladies.
Now if we can get Forestry to stop locking the gate to the Candy Rock Quarry under false pretenses,,,

O matter, you can shoot at the gate, or up as far as the last switchback.
It's also legal to shoot at the closed rest stop above the Red Apple
