Kindness Week in Calaveras County

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors to Proclaim the week of February 10th through February 15th, 2020 as Kindness Week in Calaveras County and further deem the County as a Random Acts of Kindness Zone

DISCUSSION/SUMMARY:
Seeds of Kindness was formed in 1994 in Angels Camp, spearheaded by Jim & Judy Bergantz, then owners of Bergantz Nursery.
A small group of local residents are working together to encourage and promote random acts of kindness throughout Calaveras County. In 1995, the Angels Camp City Council passed a proclamation that Angels Camp is a Kindness Zone. We are asking the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors to pass a county-wide Kindness Zone proclamation as well.

Our goal is to purchase 8,000 “Pass It On” kindness ribbons and support materials. This year, as in the past, the Seeds of Kindness project will encourage and work with Calaveras County schools, organizations and businesses to create an increased awareness for being kind. The light blue ribbons will be distributed county-wide; when a ribbon-bearer sees an act of kindness being done, they are to sign the back of the ribbon and pass it on. The idea is that the ribbons will encourage acts of kindness throughout the county.
Kindness donations will be used to purchase three miles of light blue ribbon, (to be displayed in and around buildings), 8,000 “Pass It On” ribbons and a large kindness banner for each elementary school in the county.

We invite everyone to join us in celebrating the 2020 Ripples of Kindness Project in Calaveras County February 10-15, 2020. To learn more about random acts of kindness activities, visit the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation website at www.actsofkindness.org.

Event occurs on 02/10/2020 from All Day to .

Oh, that's so sweet and kind. I never knew how this all originated, thank you for sharing.
Wouldn't this be wonderful if everyone thought before they said something mean, even if it were the truth?
I've seen kids wrapping some trees in downtown Murphys before. I wondered if someone could tell these little sweethearts where the Democrats of Calaveras County hangout and have the kids wrap these ribbons on anything and everything around, but my husband said that it might not be safe or legal to have kids around the jail. Too many Democrats get minimum bail and might hurt the Little darlings.
That's so sad that Democrats hurt kids, but we know how true that is. You read about people like Mr Epstein and one of his best friends our own Bill Clinton, sad isn't it.
But a big hug to all those kids for trying.

So, you basically undid any good you really meant by your second sentence. Hypocrite.

The only seeds that three (3) of our supervisors acknowledge are those filthy, rotten, stinking cannabis seeds. Stay the course supervisors Tofanelli, and Mills.

Tells Dennis Mills proponents wrecking opposition signs about "Kindness Week". While you are at it, tell Mills.

In all fairness, our current Twitter-in-Chief has set such a fine example about how to smear one's opponents.

The filth of your political leanings does not need to be here, you have obviously missed the whole story. Take it somewhere somebody might actually care what you have to say.

I totally agree, Cannabis seeds do NOT smell stinking or rotten and he sounded like he was mad at two of our BOS members, and actually said their names.
Then again, some of those board members have not been very nice, have they? And to be honest with you, I didn't read any filth, where pray tell dear, did you see that? My eyes are failing it seems and cannabis helps with my condition.

I'm thinking it was an attempt at sarcasm though poorly executed.

This is all well and good but perhaps the schools might consider a second outing in a month or so in which the kids clean up the ruined remains of the ribbons still tied to poles or laying on the ground. We locals get weary of cleaning up behind in front of our businesses and homes. It's enough when visitors leave their trash behind and well-meaning classrooms don't have to add to the burden. It might be an additional lesson about caring for the environment, too.

What a joke!

You've got one of the supervisors running a smear campaign against his opponent, his followers defacing campaign signs and shutting off the comment sections on their Facebook "hit" posts, while said supervisor voted for a "Kindness Zone." What a farce. It would be laughable if it wasn't so freaking sad. For some people hypocrisy has no bounds.
