Actor Kirk Douglas 1916 - 2020 Passes Away at 103

Hollywood, CA..."Kirk Douglas (born Issur Danielovitch; December 9, 1916 – February 5, 2020) was an American actor, producer, director and author. A centenarian, he was one of the last surviving stars of the film industry's Golden Age.[2] After an impoverished childhood with immigrant parents and six sisters, he made his film debut in The Strange Love of Martha Ivers (1946) with Barbara Stanwyck. Douglas soon developed into a leading box-office star throughout the 1950s, known for serious dramas, including westerns and war movies. During his career, he appeared in more than 90 movies. Douglas is known for his explosive acting style, which he displayed as a criminal defense attorney in Town Without Pity (1961)."  From Wikipadia....Click Below for Full Bio

One helluva an actor. Sometimes I still watch a few of his movies.
Not to be disrespectful, but living that long, I don't think I'd want to put my kids....oh, I don't have kids, but if I did, I wouldn't want them to sacrifice their life and time if I didn't save money to be taken care of.
Just saying. I'm taking care of one of my parents, so now I can't do what my parents did at my age. I have to stay home 24/7/365
So excuse me, call me selfish, but I'd love to get away, but nope, it's been going on for years.
So please save money for your future and don't be a burden on others.

Thank you Mr Douglas for all the great movies.
RIP

Regards a selfish person

Definitely a burden if they were not responsible working and saving money for the extreme care so many elderly need. Many it seems just had children expecting to have lifelong slaves. Not even ever thinking of anyone beyond themselves, and moving into a progressive care facility of their choice.

Then there is the medical mentality that we have to save everyone from themselves, when natural selection should have taken place long ago. Living to an age when you can't care for yourself is not a good thing. The mind going long before the body is just wrong, and did not happen in the past like today.

Thinking we should make the medical professionals who profit, financially responsible for building homes and providing the care needed. The money thrown at the homeless that refuse to work should be added to it, as many don't have slave children.

Take care of yourself too. Take a break when ever possible. Hire an elder sitter or a facility that will take them sometimes. Check with the senior center for resources. Force other relatives to help out. Sounds like you are not getting an inheritance either. You are just telling the truth and not the first person to say so.
